Wonen in een stukje Haagse geschiedenis — Herengracht 17-C In het hart van de Haagse binnenstad, aan de statige Herengracht, bevindt zich dit bijzondere appartement op de bovenste etage van een rijksmonument met een rijke historie. Hoewel de gevels en details in de loop der eeuwen zijn aangepast, zijn de oorspronkelijke plattegronden grotendeels behouden gebleven. Herengracht 17 dateert uit 1647 en kreeg zijn karakteristieke eclectische gevel in 1870. Monumentenzorg Den Haag roemde het pand als “van algemeen belang voor de gemeente ‘s-Gravenhage wegens zijn schoonheid en architectuurhistorische waarde als uitzonderlijk rijk voorbeeld van het eclecticisme in de architectuur van het derde kwart van de 19de eeuw.” De Herengracht beleeft momenteel een ware renaissance. Wonen keert terug op deze prachtige locatie, die recentelijk opnieuw is ingericht met historische bestrating, stijlvolle zitbanken en een sterk verbeterde uitstraling. Tussen de grandeur van het verleden en de moderne ministeries aan de overzijde ontstaat een fascinerend contrast van klassiek en eigentijds. Op doordeweekse dagen is het een levendige doorgang voor wandelaars en fietsers, terwijl er op zondag een serene rust heerst. In 2019 werd dit monumentale pand volledig gerenoveerd met behoud van authentieke elementen. Zo zijn de kenmerkende raampartijen met hun kleine ruitjes zorgvuldig gerestaureerd en voorzien van moderne isolatie. Parkeren kan in de nabijgelegen Muzengarage, met een ingang om de hoek aan de Brouwersgracht of onder het Malieveld. Indeling appartement 17-C U betreedt het gebouw via een imposante entreehal. Met de lift (of via de trap) bereikt u exclusief de bovenste verdieping — enkel toegankelijk voor bewoners van dit appartement. De lift opent direct in de woning.
