This is not a classy realtor. Daughter and friend submitted a bid for a house via a bidding letter, with the deadline being Friday at 1:00 PM. At 1:30 PM they were called and congratulated, they had placed the highest bid. The joy couldn't be contained, meanwhile everything was set in motion, financial advisor called, other viewings cancelled etc. A preliminary purchase agreement would be signed after the weekend. However, at 4:00 PM another phone call from the realtor, who stated that a higher bid had still come in after the bidding deadline, so unfortunately you didn't get it, or you must place another bid, higher than the amount mentioned by this realtor. We know we can’t do anything legally about this, as nothing was signed yet. But a code of conduct seems appropriate to me, a deadline like 1:00 PM should be respected. We therefore don't consider this a classy action by this realtor.
