Avoid doing business with Nijsingh Avies to prevent hassle! Steven Nijsingh states on his website that he provides legal advice but is also a real estate agent and is active as such, however, because he is not affiliated with the NVM or another professional association, you have nowhere to turn in case of a dispute. The negative review likely comes from another victimized client. The positive reviews come from his family and a construction company that Steven does business with, namely Wrotters. I also find the latter dubious, especially since Steven charges a commission for bringing in building assignments without the customer hearing or seeing it, let alone having insight into it on request (I also wonder if this is legally permitted). In short, my advice is to stay away from Steven Nijsingh.

Very disappointing experience with Hoekstra Makelaardij (Joure). After reaching an agreement on 25 April regarding the price and matters for takeover, all communication ceased. Appointments for inspection and appraisal were postponed, and the preliminary purchase agreement did not materialize due to vague excuses. On May 7th, it turned out that negotiations were being conducted with another party behind our backs. No transparency about anything happening, just a disrespectful rejection. We were knowingly used as a sledgehammer to achieve a higher price. Good for the seller but extremely unprofessional and unethical, and therefore a disgrace to the profession. At Hoekstra, buyers are pawns on the brokerage's chessboard. We will avoid houses from this realtor going forward.

Terrible how this party can show absolutely no compassion towards their customers. And they are too lazy to help their customers and look at the possibilities…. Then you try to make contact and sometimes have to wait 2 weeks for a response. Apart from that, the rented apartments are certainly good but very expensive compared to almost identical apartments in the area. The price is getting more and more expensive every time.

If it is indicated in advance that you must have a permanent contract to be able to rent. That saves a lot of time, money and disappointment. 'for your 10 others' unprofessional.

Very bad experience with this real estate agent in the purchase of new construction. The agent did not take us seriously and did not follow up on questions correctly or incompletely. For example, questions about adjusting a window to a door were not checked with the builder. We (and other buyers) were told that this was possible. Once at the builder, it turns out that this is not possible and that Hoekstra Real Estate also never checked this. False promises therefore.

Ideally, I just wanted them to have a rental property for me; where else would I go? It would be so lovely.

Generally, everything went well. After some issues, everything proceeded as desired and everyone was on the same page again.

Bought a house at the beginning of this year, but unfortunately we now have a leak. Called several times but they don't respond and then promise to help you, but that never happens!

Storage units must be created online; this is being addressed too late. You're then left with a heavily pregnant woman and a blocked toilet. They know how to sell everything well, but they can’t take action.

The people who work there are not skilled at all and unprofessional. They are only out to get money from your pockets because they charge money for everything, and if you have a defect notification that you would normally say is for the Landlord, they charge it to the Tenant. They are nice and accommodating until you sign the contract, then they can no longer do anything for you and are unreachable. BE WARNED! DO NOT GO INTO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

Fryslan Homes requests a lot of personal data such as copies of ID cards, payslips, bank statements and employer declarations to be eligible for a home. After the ultimately successful registration, I received an email stating that I had been deregistered due to not providing all necessary information. This was incorrect. Attempted to make telephone contact, which only succeeded after a few days. I was told that the property was being withdrawn from rental.

Update following the response from Fryslan Homes: These 2 situations would, as described, benefit Fryslan Homes and partially refute my review. Unfortunately, this does not reflect the reality of the situations that occurred, and a deliberately distorted picture is being presented. This review also concerns more than 2 short-lived situations but about a multitude of interactions over a period of 2 years. Although I will not go into specific details from our file, as these do not belong on this platform, I do want to emphasize that the manner of responding, in my opinion, is unprofessional. This response unfortunately confirms what I already described: Fryslan Homes seems to have difficulty acknowledging mistakes and does not shy away from protecting itself, even if it means exceeding the boundaries of AVG legislation. It would have suited Fryslan Homes if they had acknowledged that their actions detracted from our living enjoyment. Finally, the response again illustrates the authoritarian attitude of Fryslan Homes. As soon as they are challenged, they seem willing to do anything to protect their reputation. Original review: Our experience as tenants with Fryslan Homes over a period of two years was a story of mainly negatives. On one hand, the processes of registration, key handover, final inspection and the eventual payout were strikingly efficient. However, these positive notes stood in sharp contrast to our daily experiences, which were predominantly negative. The need to contact the owner directly, a step we ultimately took, highlighted Fryslan Homes' failure to fulfill its fundamental role: facilitating a positive living and rental experience. All this highlights for me an important issue: the relationship between tenant and landlord is delicate. While a tenant (legally) stands firmly on his feet, there is inherently a degree of dependence that requires respect and transparency. Our experience shows that Fryslan Homes fell short in this regard, which had a negative impact on our living enjoyment, despite a beautiful location and home.

FRYSLAN HOMES From the very beginning, there was a particularly pleasant contact with Marco and Monique. Pro-active, friendly, flexible, collaborative and professional! First rental, then sale. It took some time and I have put Marco in front of significant challenges (unwittingly), all of which he accepted and brought to a good end. In short: a special house, special history, special circumstances and an equally special real estate agent, without whom it would not have been possible. WELL DONE, Marco!! Cheers, Theo

Anne marie Hey, your son can terminate his rental agreement without costs. I had rented out my apartment for at least 1 year, but the tenants left after 7.5 months. When I asked Fryslan Homes whether the contract should then be complied with, they coldly stated that a tenant may always terminate earlier without compensation. So a rental contract with Fryslan Homes is nothing much. Your son should request reimbursement of costs, possibly through the sub-district court. Good luck. Very bad experience with Fryslan Homes as a rental agency; a clause in a rental agreement is not honored, and when you call about it, they promise in a phone conversation recorded by me to call back the next day – which they didn’t do; I received notification that they would immediately stop all mediation and want all mail from now on in writing. The reason was the recorded phone conversation which I should immediately destroy and the reason that I complained too much - I received complaints about tenants and passed them on, or tenants knocked at my door for various matters and I passed that on; that’s what I ultimately paid Fryslan Homes for. They refuse to accept a registered letter from me. Reimbursing money for services not provided – final inspection and one month without mediation – no way. It's just that my private circumstances are so difficult, otherwise I would have taken them to court immediately. Don’t do business with them; as long as you say yes and amen it is fine but if more needs to happen then you really put the cat in the curtains. Another warning: Fryslan Homes is, as far as I can tell, not affiliated with a trade association so you cannot appeal to an arbitration committee. They apparently don’t dare to do that. This leaves only recourse to the court.

Terrible company

Reachability and communication are important points of attention. There is no response to emails, nor to return call requests. My son, a student, who had to prematurely terminate his internship, has paid 1027,95 to be allowed to terminate his rental agreement earlier. In return for this, he expects Fryslan Homes to look for a new tenant, so that he does not have to serve out the entire duration of his rental agreement. Unfortunately, his apartment in Ternaard is still not listed in the rental stock and there has been no further action. “Fryslan homes gives more”…..is stated on their website….more, to line their own pockets. And yes, we feel it deep down…...severe abdominal pain even, because my son has to borrow extra money and struggle to pay the rent. Very unfortunate and hopefully Fryslan Homes will adjust its services with all available resources.

Professional and reliable. My daughter and I rented the house. The first conversation went well and after a week we received the keys. Telephone and email communication always goes well. I recommend Fryslan Home.

Even if you wanted to, renting a home through Fryslan Homes will not work. I have already responded multiple times to a property from Fryslan Homes and so far, each time I’ve received an email after about a week saying they haven't received all the data. This while it was definitely uploaded and received. Even after uploading, I still receive the same email two weeks later. When I tried to contact Fryslan Homes by phone (I wanted to know what they were doing with my data since they seem to be losing it), it wasn’t possible to speak to an employee from the automated message. This eventually worked via email. She indicated that communication had been sent stating that pets were not allowed in the property, including a date. I never received this email and would have really liked to find this information in the advertisement. This would have saved me the trouble of uploading endless amounts of documents. Perhaps the email was sent to another interested party to whom they linked my data. I see Fryslan Homes’ response as ‘the properties are going like hotcakes,’ but even after 3 months, I can still respond to the same properties, so that also turns out not to be entirely true.

Unfortunately, my experience with this rental agency has been particularly disappointing. Firstly, their accessibility was a major problem. It often took days before we received any response, if we received one at all. Furthermore, the website was a nightmare to work with. Uploading documents was a time-consuming and frustrating task because it didn't work, and when we reported the problems, they insisted that everything was working properly. The fact that both my partner and I experienced the same issues made it clear that something was fundamentally wrong. We even sent several screenshots via email, but they continued to insist that it worked fine. Also, we were not allowed to send our documents via email because the website “just works”. You feel completely misunderstood and against the wall. Especially since urgent housing was needed. The lowest point of our experience was the rude treatment by the woman who served as our first point of contact. Her attitude was far from professional and she seemed completely uninterested in solving our problems. All of this caused us an unnecessary amount of stress and frustration that made us stop working with this company. Overall, I would strongly advise against this rental agency to anyone looking for a smooth and stress-free rental experience. Their lack of accessibility, technical issues, and lack of customer service make it an absolutely poor choice.

They give compliments that it was handed over neatly. Only a small damage that needs to be repaired by a professional. So the deposit remains behind. Of course, it takes some time before the professional is available. Regular contact. And suddenly there's an email, because they don’t respond by phone, the deadline has passed. Why. Professional, honest and decisive. We rented a fantastic house from them. Nice people, extremely fast response time and simply a professional company. They have skilled tradespeople available for repairs who also come quickly. We were pleasantly surprised by this as well. They listen carefully and no effort is too much. If it should be necessary, they are the first ones I will contact again.
