I have rented a house for several years to my satisfaction; when something was wrong, it was repaired. Otherwise, I never had any problems with the rental property brokerage and received my deposit back punctually. So, my experience was simply very good.

It's telling that this company chose The Night Watch as wallpaper design for their new office building. Because just like Rembrandt’s masterpiece broke the artistic conventions of his time, the Huurwoningbemiddelaars (Rental Housing Brokers) have no qualms about violating the clauses in their own contracts – especially when it comes to repaying deposits. After my wife and I rented an apartment from them, we recently moved and returned the apartment in excellent condition, as confirmed by them in the handover protocol. Furthermore, we never had any rent arrears and provided all the documents they deemed necessary to return our deposit in proper order. They confirmed this in writing and promised to refund the money to us. However, it has been over 9 weeks since we received confirmation, and over 10 weeks since the end of the rental agreement, and we still haven't received the deposit back. We have sent them multiple reminders and formally notified them two weeks ago, but I suspect that Martijn Valk thinks he can keep our money because we moved abroad. This will force us to take legal action against them. Unless you’d like your rightfully earned money to be invested in a shiny neon sign or coffee machine in their beautiful new office building, I advise anyone considering doing business with the Huurwoningbemiddelaar to AVOID these scammers at all costs!

I have been renting out several homes through De Huurwoning Bemiddelaar for years, to full satisfaction. No vacancy, any problems with tenants are always resolved quickly and in good consultation, and if there is something wrong with the property, they have a team ready to resolve it quickly.

You can go to Martijn and his people with all questions. For us, it's important that when jobs need to be done, you can also address the same contact person. So we are very satisfied with Martijn and his team.

Pay close attention if you do business with this company. My girlfriend has been terribly scammed and deceived by Martijn Valk and his cronies. She has already told her story but after serious intimidation and threats, I also want to issue an extra warning. I am absolutely not letting him off the hook; he has the name SCAMMER in Den helder but apparently no one dares to do anything about his mafia practices. It must stop. I will involve all media available to dethrone this crook. If you are also a victim of this man, feel free to contact me. Together we are strong and don't be intimidated.

The critical reviews are simply removed. So here's a small update. While searching, they seem to think with you until you find a house. From that moment on, the service is very mediocre. If you need them, they don't come or respond very late or not at all, and ultimately nothing happens. Until you haven’t paid, then they are at your door within 2 days. It's just that I was in housing emergency and had no other choice; otherwise, I definitely wouldn't have chosen them. They claimed the problems I experienced were due to the landlord, which may well be true, but to resolve it, they do very little in my opinion.

Landlords and tenants please note! The company demands that tenants pay € 45,- before they will even speak with you or tell you what the required documents are. I paid the money and then saw that I did not have all of the necessary paperwork. I asked for a refund, but they said straight out 'no'. This means you can only use their service if you're in NL for longer than a year, and that new people and immigrants don't receive quality service. If they were a better company, they wouldn’t have to take money from people. I would never recommend this real estate agency to a tenant or landlord. Go somewhere else.

Very customer-focused and willing to think along about solutions, which I personally find very nice! The service is fast and they are easy to reach. A real recommendation!
