Uniek Pareltje in de Archipelbuurt Het betreft een unieke hofjeswoning uit 1881 en is een van de vier woningen in een heel groen en kleinschalig hofje gelegen achter de hoofdbebouwing van de Malakkastraat, bekend onder de naam Malakkahofje. De vierkante uitbouwen voor de huisjes zijn van later datum. Op nummer 96 woonde in 1888 de grondlegger van het socialisme in Nederland. Ferdinand Domela Nieuwenhuis. Het is niet voor niets dat de historische waarde door de gemeente wordt erkend. Vandaar dat deze woning valt onder gemeentelijk beschermd stadsgezicht en een monument is. De huisjes bevinden zich midden in de Archipelbuurt aan de Haagse Beek in een oase van rust. In de directe omgeving bevinden zich gezellige winkelstraten.
