Don't rent from easymakelaars and do no business with them. There is virtually no contact between these real estate agents and their landlords, so it's impossible to find out exactly what is wrong with the property. During the viewing I was told that the gas boiler would be replaced by an electric one. I was happy with that, because gas would exceed my budget. When the boiler wasn't replaced after my move and I asked the landlord about it, he said that there was no such arrangement and that I would have to pay for the gas. Talking to easymakelaars was pointless. They didn't know what I was talking about and were certain that the electric boiler had been installed. That wasn't the case. Without my permission, they tried to 'fix' the situation by giving my name and contact details to a company that manages energy contracts, as if their dishonesty was my problem. Your privacy is certainly not their concern. The rental agreement was vague, because there was nothing in it about who was responsible for the gas costs. Probably it was written when fantasies about electric kettles were still realistic. Because of this vagueness, every legal action I took was answered with: 'You have no strong arguments to pursue this.' Either easymakelaars is deliberately misleading or completely incompetent. Don't bother and don't trust a word of what they say.

They helped me find three rental apartments in Leiden. They continue to do business with landlords who don't return the security deposit, especially not to expats. Before I went to rent, they promised me they would return the deposit and intervene if necessary, but when I later asked for help, they ignored that promise. So they are deliberately part of the chronic problem of greedy landlords in the Netherlands.

Don't fall for this trap - these are criminals who won't pay back your deposit after the end of a contract and ignore all reminders and attempts to contact them. They also largely didn't respond when we rented an apartment from them. Avoid this!

If I could, I would give -1 star. They don't respond to emails, don't call, don't show up for appointments, and the girl who showed us the house said things we already knew, or just things that weren't true about the property. We wanted to go directly to their office, but it was closed on Friday. I have no words for this realtor, just don't do business with them!! It’s a waste of time.

The previous reviews didn't predict much good either. My experience is that Easy Makelaars is unreachable: not via email, not via Pararius, and not by phone. If you respond via Pararius, you immediately receive a standard email with an invitation for a viewing. But if you have any questions about that: no response. It's a shame that many properties are available for rent through Easy. I'm skipping Easy.

They invited people for a group viewing and didn't show up. Another potential tenant and I waited 30 minutes before going home.

Had a lovely viewing, where we were told that we were the only candidates for the apartment. We were completely naive and happy, especially when we were called to say that we had also been chosen! Subsequently, we received a phone call saying that we weren't selected after all. We did find it remarkable and just to be sure, we called back, after which we were rudely told that it really had been rented out to someone else. A month later, we happened to walk past the apartment in question, where another 'for rent' sign was hanging up again. Quite remarkable.

Never respond to emails.

What terrible customer service you offer. You should be ashamed of yourselves. My friend called to inquire about a rental property in which we were very interested. During the phone call, my friend indicated that we had attended multiple viewings. At this point, the fake jerk on the other end of the line pointed out to us that you 'don't have it to choose from' at this time and that we should be happy if we could rent anywhere. The reason we are viewing multiple houses is because it is indeed difficult to get a house. We like to register for multiple options, because the chance of getting a property is very low. Thanks to this employee, we were never allowed to view the house or be considered for it. This is simply the most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced. The only reason you are even in business is because there is so ridiculously high demand for houses. As soon as that decreases, you will have to rely on your customer service and then I hope you go bankrupt very quickly. Outright scandalous.

I had a fantastic experience with Easy Brokers. I had trouble finding a house for a few months and only got negative reactions to the viewings I attended. I asked Easy Brokers for help and they were the only real estate agents who took my case seriously. Carlo was so helpful and did his best to find the best solution. A few days after our appointment, I finally found the studio that was perfect for me. I would definitely recommend them.

Very bad experience. We wanted to rent an apartment and had a friendly opening and viewing. After that, things quickly went wrong. Never heard anything or received a response to emails. Had to call 6 times ourselves to find out if the apartment was rented and always got the same answer 'we don't know you will hear today or tomorrow'. This lasted for 2 weeks. Called again today and suddenly the apartment was rented. Extremely unprofessional, unfriendly and unkind. Definitely not worth searching through them.

Unfortunately no positive experience. Luckily found a house, but not through Easy Makelaars. I had a pleasant viewing at the time. Subsequently all (personal) documentation was sent and nothing more was heard from them. Not even after I emailed again. Only weeks later a pathetic standard rejection. It is a difficult housing market for both buyers and renters, but as a real estate agent you can ensure that an experience is still pleasant, even if you don't get the house. That was not the case here. A pity.

I am very satisfied with the service that Carlo from EasyMakelaars provided me! When I was not chosen by the owner after my first viewing, Carlo found another apartment for me within a week, where I could move in just a few days later. Always very friendly and helpful in contact. Never would have dreamed of finding something so quickly that meets all my requirements. And that is thanks to EasyMakelaars!

Easy Makelaars helped us find a rental property in Leiden when there were few available. We were impressed by their service and especially Outman, who helped us to the utmost in solving problems. Finding a room in Leiden seemed simply impossible. I had put in a lot of effort to find something, but without any success. They are making it anything but easy. We've already had 4 incidents. The first time, I had a viewing at a house at 4:00 PM, but there was no real estate agent there at 4:00 PM. I called and eventually someone showed up. A week later, somewhere else, a viewing. I have to come from Limburg and had just been in the car for 3 hours and had just passed Rotterdam when I was called with the message that they had forgotten to inform the owner and therefore the viewing could not take place. At the next viewing at the same property, I had informed them well in advance that due to unforeseen traffic congestion I would probably be 15-20 minutes late, and that was no problem, I was told. When I finally arrived at the property, the real estate agent was already preparing to leave. He ultimately rushed through it with me in 5 minutes, but initially he wanted to leave it to the current residents. And then the fourth incident. I had made an offer regarding a house several weeks ago. Also called multiple times, but they just couldn't reach the owner. Today I was called again and told that it had already been rented. 'Yes sorry due to the rush that wasn’t reported'. It is simply sad and frankly disrespectful.

Terrible service. The first time I dealt with you, I encountered a very unprofessional and rude employee, and then my emails were ignored twice. I would not recommend you to anyone.

I had made an appointment for a viewing. Ten minutes after the agreed time, there was still no one. I called the 06 number of the employee I had arranged with, but he was unreachable. Easymakelaars said they would try to contact him. I waited another hour and a half in The Hague, but they didn't contact me again, not even for an explanation or apology. A bit unfortunate, a waste of my time.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a small house through various websites for months, but nothing seemed to happen. We decided to visit Easy real estate agents and within a week an apartment was arranged. Good service and friendly employees.

I was urgently looking for accommodation in Leiden. Contact was quickly made with me and I was able to come and sign the rental agreement on the same day as the viewing! It was arranged quickly, so incredibly good service!

I found both apartments that I rented through Easy Makelaars. It is important to know that the Dutch housing market is extremely tight and it is generally difficult to find a home, especially if you are a foreign student. The past two months I have looked at all the websites of local real estate agents for a new house, and only Easy Makelaars had options that fit your income, budget and student criteria, while at the same time delivering a decent house! That naturally didn't mean it was easy. But without Easy Makelaars I wouldn't have found any of the houses that I found. Moreover, I must say that all staff were very helpful and quick, and given the terrible market we are all facing, they did an amazing job in finding future homes for students like me!

I searched for and found a home through this agency. They always responded quickly, I received all the help I needed and although I only moved into this house a week ago, the employees of EasyMakelaars have been incredibly helpful and friendly in ensuring that my move went smoothly. For example, when the lights in my house broke down, they contacted the landlord who repaired it for me the next day, so I didn't have to live in a dark house. The staff were also very kind and helped me with suggestions and answered all my questions as an expat. Overall, they are very helpful and I know that my move to Leiden would not have gone so smoothly if they hadn't been there.

EasyMakelaars, EasyRentals, Refam, all the same people. Stay as far away from them as possible. Very nice when you want to rent a house from them but once they have to step in as landlords... They let us live with mold in the bedrooms for months, without seeking any concrete and long-term solutions. All they did was wipe off the mold (dangerous!) and place a dehumidifier (not enough). The growing leak that we had reported months ago and repeatedly only addressed when water had to be collected in buckets. The mold spot that had already formed beforehand and the warped floor as a result of the leak, they did not repair. When we demanded that they address the structural problems, they threatened to evict us. Very unprofessional company!

Specialized in assisting expatriates who are looking for a rental property and do not know the Dutch rental regulations. I had to hire a lawyer, who told me that they are lying.

The men from Easymakelaar helped us find a fantastic apartment in no time. They stayed a while longer to check everything was okay and we managed to finalise the deal without any problems. All in all a great experience and we're glad we dropped by their office.

They are quite attentive and friendly until you sign the contract... After you've moved in, you’re completely on your own, they just don’t answer questions or complaints... On the day I signed my contract, I received a few keys and was supposed to receive another later, but I never got them, even though it had already been arranged... I had problems with my hot water for the first week, a month later they didn't respond to my complaint... Now I have problems with my internet connection and for the past two weeks they’ve been avoiding me...

Very poor communication with tenants and also within their own company. On three occasions, appointments I made were not kept because 'a mistake was made' within their system.

The staff seem to mean well, but it wasn't a pleasant experience going house hunting with them. I went to their office every day for a week to inquire about an apartment I was interested in. I had even paid the pre-registration form. Only when I (again) went to their office was I informed of the decision. I doubt they would have notified me directly after the decision otherwise. It cost me a lot of valuable time.

We just moved from Austria to Leiden and had a fantastic experience with Easy Makelaars! They were very friendly, helpful, and professional. They helped us with installing electricity, water, and gas, and even made a few copies of our passports (and such) for us before our mail went out. A great real estate agency to work with!

Fantastic help from Easy Makelaar. Despite the tight housing market, they managed to find a great house after a few months thanks to this team. They respond well to the wishes of the future tenant. Very satisfied!

For students considering engaging these people for a room, be aware that they ask for contract costs. Requesting these contract costs has been prohibited since July 2016 (source: rijksoverheid). Only the owner of the house is allowed to request this. What they are doing is therefore illegal. In my case, the costs were also not included in the contract for this reason, but given as a separate invoice along with the contract. They will also not negotiate further to reduce or eliminate these costs. Furthermore, I would also read the reactions below. This is not the first time they have scammed people. The fact that their name has changed from EasyRentals to EasyMakelaars to evade costs, in my opinion, says enough.

They (then still 'Easyrentals') rented me an apartment that turned out to be illegal for habitation, contrary to what was stated in our rental agreement. They lied both to the owner and to me. I demanded reimbursement of the commission and compensation for the moving costs resulting from it. They avoided these costs and a lawsuit by changing their company name (to the current 'Easymakelaars') to evade a court ruling. I am not the only victim, see other reviews.

After walking in, immediately received a very friendly welcome. We could go look somewhere right away and signed the same day! Great people, great realtor.

After I found a nice apartment via the Easymakelaars website. It turned out that I had to sign a 'rental assignment agreement', which among other things stated that I accepted the property and that I could move in here after paying two times the rent and once 125 euros. This contract had to be signed otherwise they could not set up a rental agreement. Signing both at the same time was not possible. Too bad, I have decided against the property because it didn't feel right. I did understand that they are going to adjust their working method for the future.

I was very shocked when I saw how this office and its employees are dealing with it, at least with the students, most of whom are desperately looking for a room in a city like Leiden. First of all, they only think about their money. It doesn't matter if you have a housing or not, because they just want to make money off of you. Then you can pay all the money in cash or via a bank transfer, that's how they want it done. They don't ask you about it, they just tell you how you have to pay, and that can be via a bank transfer or cash (I think it depends on the mood of the employee; in my case, it was cash, both for the deposit and in the first month!). It seems like they are playing a game with the students and they find it fun. They know that students are desperately looking for a house and they use this against us. They have more power than we do and they know it and they use it.

Very satisfied with Easymakelaars: I was desperate in my search for a house in Leiden. Although there were many other people in the same situation, they were very nice and spent a lot of time showing me what they had. Very involved and expert staff, who can skillfully make the right match between demand and supply of rental properties. I have also found the personal approach very pleasant. If you have questions, you can always drop by the office. That is very nice. But they are also easily reachable by phone and e-mail. A reliable, fresh and young company, which has managed to achieve a leading position on the rental market of houses and apartments in Leiden within relatively short time.

I was looking for a nice studio in Leiden to live. After I had researched everything on the internet, I ended up at EasyMakelaars. I was very well assisted and felt that they set my wishes on to find a suitable home for me. Afterwards I viewed with a real estate agent various studios and chose the nicest one! **** UPDATE: For all (former) tenants, there is most likely incorrectly the monthly service costs cashed via easymakelaars. If you contact huurdokters.nl they will arrange that you get a large part back. Easy makelaars will not return this themselves. **** Myself a tenant for several years. This is the perfect example of a real estate agent who only thinks about filling his own pockets and nothing at all about the well-being of the tenants. Promises are not kept and there is no transparency. For the reader who wants to consider renting here, do not unless: -You don't mind that no maintenance will ever be performed on the property. -You want to incorrectly pay up to 80% too much in service costs, which will again never be settled with you. -You like not being taken seriously by the real estate agent who rents the house to you. -You are at peace with the fact that when there are defects and this is reported nothing but absolutely nothing will be done by the landlord. -You also don't mind that the landlord will not keep any agreements made. If you have no problem with this, I would definitely do it!!

Easy real estate agents = you become broke quickly. The only 'easy' thing about this office is how easily they find excuses to take your money. If you decide to rent a house through them, make sure you take photos of the smallest flaws and details of the apartment as soon as you move in, because they make you pay a lot for the smallest things, even if they were already there.

Initially a friendly service. I and a fellow student rented an apartment on the first floor in a house. The real estate agent himself chose unreliable tenants, refused to take responsibility for the living expenses (gas/water/electricity/wifi), so we as tenants had to resolve this among ourselves. When the tenants of the ground floor left for the sunny south, they left me and my roommate with 300 euros in unpaid living expenses, plus there was an additional charge from the gas company of 2000 euros. The real estate agent said he would contact the landlord, but never did. We also sometimes went two weeks without hot water and every repair was carried out reluctantly. Finally, an amount was also withheld from the deposit because 'something had happened to the floors', which is genuinely ridiculous because the floors weren't even clean when we moved in (not to mention that the 'renovators' were smoking heavily in the apartment and everything smelled of tobacco upon moving in). Avoid like the plague, especially when you are a student. UPD: No, great, this response. Perhaps the landlord is the client, which I certainly want to accept. It does mean that EasyMakelaars is still the party that fails to properly execute the assignment when they attract tenants of whom it is already quite clear beforehand that they are not reliable (I even had the immigration police at the door because one of the men was allegedly illegal and I reported this to you). Furthermore, as a real estate agent, you should also be there for the tenant and if necessary drag the owner out from under the ground when such abuses occur.

Never do business with these people. The first week the contact goes smoothly, but when there are subsequently problems with the apartment, they no longer pick up the phone and no longer answer emails. Complaints were not resolved throughout the entire apartment complex, causing several tenants to decide to move out. Subsequently, these homes were converted into AirBnBs where up to 15 people stayed at the same time. When we were tired of the complaints and sent an official letter, we were told that we had to leave our house, but the legally required moving allowance was not paid.

Easymakelaars is a new BV of the old EasyRentals to avoid the recovery of commission costs. Bad business. Until last week, the address of EasyRentals was still at your current address in Leiden. That naturally has nothing to do with each other.
