Be aware of your deposit when renting through this agency. After almost three years of renting with Finke, I received a final inspection where a 10cm long scratch was noted. The inspector indicated that everything was in order and gave the impression that the tenancy had ended well. No instruction was given to me to remove this scratch before the end of the month. A week after the end of my rental period, I found out that all walls were repainted at a cost of 1500 euros, which came directly from my deposit. I disagreed with this - I could have painted it myself for 20 euros - and took it to court, where I was given the right side. I got my deposit back.

Everyone we contacted was professional and helpful. Finding an apartment in Leiden was much easier thanks to this team, and the communication was excellent. All our questions were answered quickly and we would definitely recommend them or use their services again.

They are friendly and helpful when they have contact with you. I had some problems with the new apartment. According to the real estate agents, it was a short circuit that would be resolved within a few hours (it took much longer). I had to contact them multiple times to get it resolved. Edit: I now live in this apartment for 5 months and I still don't have a working intercom (I opened a ticket in week 2).

Very average service. The real estate agent assigned to me showed me one apartment before going on a week of sick leave. When I tried to contact the agent to find someone else who could take over, they reacted very average. The progress was incredibly slow and it didn't seem like they really cared at all. As for the apartment that I did manage to secure, I was the one who found it and went to the first viewing. Throughout the entire process, I had to call them multiple times to get things moving. And ultimately, they dared to send me a bill for their 'service'. Very immoral and two-faced.

I contacted Thomas about renting an apartment and Thomas was one of the best agents I have ever encountered. He was always transparent about the situation and told me everything I needed to speed up the rental of the apartment. Overall, the process went very smoothly, given the complexity of the current tenant. Finke Makelaars is also great at planning; they don't ask silly questions like credit history, are not eligible for rent if you have a temporary contract or secondment, and reject you if you are Indian or often cook in the kitchen. I have really heard silly and almost racist questions from other agents in the Leiden region, but Finke Makelaars is fantastic, very clear.

Direct, accurate and very clear towards all parties involved. Finding a tenant is - especially in the digital age - not the most difficult thing there is. What is difficult, is finding the right tenant. If Kevin deems a potential candidate unsuitable, he tells the homeowner that. In doing so, he protects this landlord from a lot of possible misery. He seeks, weighs and considers, and works until he has found the right match. Then he completes the matter to the last detail until both tenant and landlord are satisfied. That is what he promises and that is what he does. Landlords can safely leave their worries in the hands of this professional. Finally.... Besides his approach, his photos are also very professional!
