Professional real estate agent, very pleasant to deal with and realistic about setting expectations. I have greatly benefited from Guus (already 2 times) in all aspects of real estate brokerage (appraisal, purchase and sale), and he has prevented me from overpaying for a house. Highly recommended!

We sold our house in Nijmegen through them last summer and looking back, we are very satisfied with Guus (and Diana) as selling agents. They can respond quickly, have (connections with) a very professional photographer, and knew how to properly value our property. Regarding prior agreements, Guus was very flexible, and his telephone availability for questions was also good. Guus is extremely correct in separating his interests as a sales and purchase broker; this is commendable. We found the brokerage fees for the sale of our house to be market-conform. Guus has also given us service tips and advice for the purchase of our current home (in another area). All in all, our experience with Basten Makelaardij is that they deliver good work and stand up for their clients, and they are very friendly (and absolutely not 'smooth' like some other agents). We can therefore wholeheartedly recommend them!

People, don't have the valuation of your home carried out here if you also want to include a valuation after renovation. Less than half the cost of what needed to be done was included in the assessed value. Afterwards, we heard from several estate agents that they definitely would not have recommended having the valuation done through here. I therefore advise against it. It is better to pay a little more for a good valuation, we unfortunately had to find out.

Strange low valuation after renovation, the real estate agent and mortgage advisor had never seen this before. Communication was also poor beforehand and it took a long time for the report to be ready. I would advise against this appraiser to everyone.

A very unpleasant experience with this real estate agent. To inflate the selling price of a house ENORMELY, this real estate agent organizes an 'Open House' where upon entering, it is shared that you must make a good offer on the same day to have any chance of getting the property in question. This creates a nerve-wracking situation. But especially very strange because we had an appointment scheduled a few days later to view the same house together with a buyer's agent? The bidding process also isn't transparent; the bid must be emailed to this real estate agent and doesn't go through ‘Move.nl’.

The employees of Gelsing Makelaardij in Nijmegen are extremely friendly, but the owner is a man who thinks highly of himself, is unfriendly and very arrogant. I have bought and sold houses many times in my life, but this realtor surpasses everything. I think things have gone too well for him. Also, the office doesn't keep their appointments and the way they communicate is regularly insufficient; the buyer of our house was also not pleased about this. Not recommended.

Recently, I wanted to rent a unit and visited the location for a viewing. After weeks of silence, I received no response at all and it turned out the unit had been rented to someone who viewed it after me. The reason? The owner chose to do so. When I asked for an alternative, the answer was no, even though they have a website full of alternatives. Ridiculous, not worth ever calling them.

The website contains all information however it is not very user-friendly.

Annoying experience with this realtor. After our offer was accepted by Jan, my wife, daughter and I were overjoyed. Jan states that he will draw up a purchase contract as soon as possible, which he says should take less than a week. However, Jan fails to fulfill his promise regarding the purchase contract and suddenly disappears off the radar. We hear from his office that he is on vacation and unavailable. A few weeks pass during which we try to call and email Jan to get clarity, after all we are already busy selling our own house and having conversations with our bank. Only after we involve another realtor to get clarity about the situation, do we learn that Jan shamelessly sold the house to another party while we were waiting for the signing of a purchase contract. Jan politely offers that we may still be able to buy the house if things go wrong with the new buyer, no thank you Jan, I would rather buy elsewhere. This man lacks all integrity, avoid if possible.

Worst realtor I've ever dealt with. Over more than a week, I was promised more than three times that someone would contact me after I wanted to schedule a viewing. I haven't heard anything from the realtor. Those who answer the phone can tell you nothing about the property or its availability and there is never anyone available to transfer calls. How can you buy a house like this? I won’t do business with them.
