The most terrifying experience I have ever had in the Netherlands since my arrival in 2021. When I checked out of the rented apartment, Eric, director of the Mauritshuis, screamed at me and stamped his feet. He also insulted my husband during an email conversation. Possibly racist and sexist. Absolutely unprofessional. I would give negative stars if that were possible.

I was looking for a quality property for one of my expat clients. The houses offered by 't Mauritshuis Makelaars are always of a high standard and this time I wasn't disappointed either. This realtor is definitely not recommended. Everyone is arrogant and unprofessional. Would not do business with them!

If I could give zero stars to this realtor, I would have. Owner, at least that's what I think, an older man, incredibly arrogant and condescending. Had already heard rotten stories about this realtor, but now know for sure from my own experience: I don't want to do business with this realtor, I've never experienced anything like it.

I have had a very unpleasant experience with this realtor. The owner, Eric van de Heuvel, discriminated against me and gave negative advice based on that. Mr. Van den Heuvel was very unfriendly in his communication, bordering on rude. Very arrogant and definitely not recommended. It has since been learned that at least one person has had a similar experience with the same gentleman. (Update June 3, 2025: The original text has been marginally adjusted following a letter from Mr. Van den Heuvel's lawyer and the real estate agency. The truth can walk naked through the streets, but lies must dress up well.)

Very bad experiences with this office, which improperly profits from the high number of people looking for housing. Asking an irresponsibly high rent and then also presenting a much too high number of square meters with nice talk, about 24% more than reality. Also various equipment turned out to be quite outdated during the rental period. We were too trusting, naive. Yes, very stupid, hence this reaction. Those involved are making significant profits if you, as a potential tenant, have nowhere else to go. Fortunately, we found something else reasonably on time.

We asked 't Mauritshuis to guide us in the sale of our home. We must state that this has proceeded very positively. From the intake interview to the actual sale and all necessary follow-up. Thanks to Fabian, Erik & Team for guiding this process so well and personally. We look forward to moving into our next home which we have found partly thanks to 't Mauritshuis.

Not professional and very poor communication. They don't update their advertisements on Funda or Pararius either. Despite multiple emails and phone calls, their response is quite lukewarm. I never received answers to my questions. And that’s not even mentioning the deposit I paid for the rental. Very discouraging remarks. It seems they don't like working with expats. Not recommended for expats.

Rental agents often act solely in the interest of the landlord. In this respect, ‘t Mauritshuis distinguishes itself enormously from the rest of the market: the (prospective) tenant stands alongside the landlord at ‘t Mauritshuis in a shared first place and that is commendable. Work is done based on trust and communication proceeds remarkably smoothly. The enormous work ethic of agent Floris van ‘t Mauritshuis and the desire to really help us resulted in us now living in a beautiful penthouse. Mauritshuis was exceptional in their service. They did an excellent screening of apartments and only showed top quality on the market. They were very quick, responded promptly, and everything was done in my best interest. I can wholeheartedly recommend them!

Poor communication, terribly handled and when a complaint and frustration was expressed, they put us on a blacklist and called the owner to tell him that he shouldn't rent to us. Contacted the owner to file a complaint, who promised to take this into consideration and promptly went on vacation! Companies like these should not be allowed to operate in modern society, stay away.
