Very bad experience with Van der Wiel Makelaars. The first meeting was still positive, but after that things went wrong. I had to repeatedly insist before our house was finally placed on Funda. The worst thing, however, was that offers were not passed on to us or were passed on much too late. At one point there was even a bid that was €25,000 higher than the previous bid, and that was “forgotten” by the broker. When I confronted him with this, he literally said: “I’m only human.” To top it all off, he then asked me to delete the WhatsApp conversation about this — which of course I didn't do. In short: a very unprofessional approach, which could easily cost you money. If you are looking for a reliable broker, I would definitely not recommend Van der Wiel. Response to your answer: Thank you for your response. The fact that I posted my review more than a year later does not invalidate my experience. Frankly, I find your comment about that inappropriate and detracts from the content of what I wanted to share. You point to a complex situation and a legal conflict, but precisely in such circumstances it is the responsibility of a broker to communicate independently, clearly and transparently with all parties involved. That did not happen in my case, or at least not sufficiently. The offer you are talking about was not clearly communicated to me at the time, nor in a manner appropriate given the situation. Your explanation afterwards does nothing to change the fact that I experienced this as a lack of transparency and care. You may regret that, but I am the one who felt the consequences of it. You state that you always strive for correct action, but unfortunately that has not been shown in my file. Your response confirms that explanations are being sought rather than reflection or responsibility. I do not consider a personal meeting useful at this time. My review is intended to warn others about what I have experienced. I hope you use this feedback to improve your working method.

But then it went from a good feeling to a very bad feeling; nothing was discussed anymore about bidding deadlines etc. We addressed this to der Wiel junior, and the only answer we constantly received was 'that's how we work, that's how we work.' From us, a resounding fail, and we will never do business with them again.

I sold my house through Van der Wiel Real Estate Agency. Last Friday they carried out the final inspection in my absence. Until today I have not heard anything about this. A simple message like: Everything went well - the buyers are at the notary - would have been sufficient. Unfortunately, it is characteristic of the entire process. There were regular viewings, but I never received feedback on how these had gone. When I decided to check in myself, I immediately got the suggestion thrown at me - 'My proposal is to drop the price'. There weren't many more ideas. Later around a bid, there was again little initiative. I decided to throw the ball up myself to make a counter offer. The subsequent reporting from Van der Wiel was very focused on selling the house as quickly as possible. Quickly collect the commission and move on - that’s how it seemed. On the front end, Van der Wiel seemed like a good choice to me, but afterwards this turned out to be disappointing. I would not recommend them.

Pure fraud. If you are looking for a home soon and see that it is being sold by Van der Wiel Makelaardij, forget about this property, because even if you offer 30k above the asking price, your bid will not be accepted, but someone who bids below €5000 will be accepted, because they are an ‘insider’. They are anything but honest. I wasted my time viewing and bidding for nothing. They engage in shady practices. They don’t even deserve 1 star, but unfortunately, it cannot be otherwise. The process was totally unfair, super disappointing for a real estate agency that has become so big, but is corrupt.

The entire sales process was a joke. They did not adhere to any of the agreements made in any way. They were virtually unreachable for questions. We had to arrange everything ourselves and chase after everything ourselves. A car salesman pretending to be a broker and a boy who just got out of diapers conducting the viewings and giving viewers completely incorrect information. No proper and timely response to complaints and they ran off with the full brokerage fee without any form of compensation. And as icing on the cake, the house was removed from Funda by them as quickly as possible so that we could no longer share our experience there. In short: First class fraud!

On December 31st, we had a free valuation done through the website. We were looking into the possibilities regarding moving. On January 3rd, we received a call from Jan-Willem to discuss the free valuation. He told us that you can try selling for free for 3 months. We quickly made an appointment. The next evening he already came by. After agreeing on an asking price, we agreed to the sale of the house. On Friday our house appeared on Funda, and the Thursday after that, 18 viewings were scheduled. All on the same day. This was very pleasant for us because you only have to clean your house once. Ultimately, a good offer came out which we accepted. The communication is going well. You can call, WhatsApp, email, visit. You really get the feeling that they do everything for you. When you are moving, many questions come up. Also a lot of uncertainty. Fortunately, at van der wiel makelaardij, they know how to reassure you and give you the feeling that everything will be alright. Luckily, it has all worked out well in the meantime. I bought my apartment from/via Jan-Willem van der Wiel in 2012; he then acted as the seller's real estate agent. I didn’t bring my own real estate agent. However, I did consider it. Jan-Willem immediately inspired confidence, however. In addition, he is expert, down-to-earth, honest and (therefore) reliable, especially because Jan-Willem had an appraisal report prepared by a reliable appraiser for the bank at my request. The entire procedure went smoothly back then, also with the notary. When I recently decided to sell my apartment, I therefore didn’t have to think long about choosing a real estate agent: again Van der Wiel Makelaardij. I dealt with André, Jan-Willem's colleague. He too immediately inspired confidence, is firmly on the ground, is honest and down-to-earth. In addition, André also knows very well what he’s talking about. Incidentally, we clicked from the beginning. André managed to attract a large number of viewers, almost 60% of whom made an offer. Ultimately, he was able to negotiate an extremely good sales price for my apartment. I therefore wholeheartedly recommend Van der Wiel Makelaardij.
