Today I received my keys for a rental property from Orange Wonen Makelaars. It doesn't happen often that I feel compelled to write a review, but dealing with Irina and her husband was truly fantastic. After living abroad for several years, I was nervous about renting and had noticed that most real estate agents had a rather aloof attitude towards my needs. It was essentially take it or leave it and virtually no understanding of what I was trying to achieve. During the viewing of the apartment we subsequently rented, we were initially shown around by Alex, who I believe is the owner of Orange Wonen Makerlaars together with Irina who helped us make a well-considered decision without any pressure. Her attention to detail and relaxed manner was a pleasant change from other agents we had met and her advice was well thought out and unbiased. From the moment of the first viewing of the apartment and ultimately receiving the keys. All in all, a true pleasure to deal with.

Very nice doing business with Orange Wonen. They do what they promise and support you with everything you need when renting out your house. Beautiful photos, appealing texts and excellent advice about the rental price and how to deal with tenants. If you have questions, they are always ready. Truly very top-notch and highly recommended as far as we're concerned. Thank you Irina and Alex for all your efforts.

I had a very good experience with Orange Wonen. Irina always responded quickly and kindly and answered all my questions. It wasn't a problem to reschedule the key handover when my travel plans unexpectedly changed. Thank you very much!

Reaction: This is already the fourth time you are getting over it. Now we're at least in public, so people can get to know you better. 1. 'There is much more demand than supply': That's why that advertisement is still open (after 1 month and 10 days). I see the demand clearly. What you're doing is making a loss on that specific house. You'd rather let it stand empty than rent it out. This is clearly a huge loss. 2. 'Landlords want a guarantee that they can collect the rent and that guarantee you cannot give at this moment': So for the fourth time: A down payment for 6 months + 2 months deposit is not a guarantee? An employment contract (which can be terminated etc.) is more of a guarantee than ADVANCE PAYMENT? I hope you understand the situation. You can also be guaranteed by the contract. For example: So sad to see that even rich people or lottery winners have trouble finding a house, while they have no job but a lot of money (assuming they want to rent...). 3. 'We try to help all housing seekers as much as possible, but we can't perform miracles.': Yes, we felt how helpful you were. The clear willingness to pay is no miracle that you need to perform. What you should do is sell, but what you actually do is 0. Thank you for your wish, which has been successful because we did not waste our precious time on Orange Wonen Real Estate Agents.

Agent shares insufficient information. Unaware of expats.

Irina: Not helpful at all. The worst experience an expat can have. Better to talk to someone else. No employment contract? You cannot get housing, even if you offer to pay 3-6 months in advance (6 months is often a minimum rental period). Prepayment = YOU GET THE MONEY. Employment contract = ? Is it a guarantee? That might be the case, but a better guarantee than paying upfront? By the way: the advertisement is still open (after 1 month and 10 days), despite the fact that 'many people inquire'. Also: the advertisement is quite flawed, I already had many questions... No real explanation for the rejection, I felt a bit discriminated against. Irina, 'the true professional', is and remains losing reliable tenants. That's bad for business, isn't it? I sympathize with the landlord. I hope you are the recipient, Irina, you still have much to learn about this profession.

Orange Wonen reacted quickly and professionally to my rental wishes. I can recommend it to anyone looking for temporary accommodation in the Netherlands :)

Starting a life in another country is no easy task, but Irina and Alex do everything they can to help us in this adventure. They are always willing to provide detailed answers to our questions within an impressive time frame. Dealing with rental agencies in the Netherlands can be very difficult and it's almost impossible to get the right attention, but with Orange Wonen I feel that they know there is also a life on the other side and therefore they will always be my first choice if I need to rent or buy another apartment/house.

Irina has helped us enormously. In fact, we found Orange Wonen when we (almost) lost hope of finding a decent accommodation anytime soon. Irina responded very quickly to our questions from the first appointment until the check-in and even after the check-in she made sure that we were finally settled.
