We have now been waiting for 4 months for a message about whether we will get our deposit back

When renting out my old house, I went into business with several real estate agents, unfortunately not to my satisfaction, pushy, failing to keep appointments. Subsequently, a good friend tipped me off and I entered into a contract with Covers. For years they rented out my apartment, helped me in every way possible, and relieved me of all burdens. They had decent tenants and whenever something was wrong it was resolved immediately. Fine and quick communication! In the sale and purchase of my new home, I can only say sublime!!!! Meta supported me enormously throughout this entire process because there were quite a few setbacks privately, but she stood by me day and night (weekends), and in addition to being extremely professional, she was also very involved. How grateful I am that there are still such kind people who are so involved. Top company that guides you well from beginning to end, thinks along with you, reassures you and takes away your worries. For me, Covers and especially Meta get a solid 10!!!!

I was scammed and defrauded by their agent Kristianne Slagmolen. Person without integrity and virtue. Very unprofessional throughout the entire process. I would not recommend these brokers, not even to my worst enemy. I would advise you to be very careful if you do business with them, total scammers in the market.

They helped with the styling/work and preparing the property for sale, and also took all communication with the tenant (who was living there until the sale) out of their hands. We recently had the challenge to quickly acquire an apartment for our daughter in the center of Utrecht. Because I lived outside of the Netherlands and did not have local contacts, it was my task to understand the market, find a suitable property, and offer and close efficiently and cost-effectively in a hot market. Finding Covers Wonen was the greatest luck we had. From the beginning, they took the time to thoroughly understand our assignment, they guided us with invaluable assistance through the Dutch purchasing process and provided insightful updates on the market, locations in Utrecht, and the pitfalls and costs that we needed to avoid. When it came to the search, our real estate agent Meta quickly showed us well-chosen and realistic properties to help sharpen our search quickly, which led to a great target object within days. Meta's experience and contacts with many selling brokers and sharp knowledge of market bidding tactics were the reason we were successful with our first offer, all within 10 days of starting the process, amazing! The fixed rate of Covers Wonen was reasonable and considering the service and result certainly fair and worthwhile. The very attentive help from Meta in introducing us to notaries and other relevant contacts was very helpful. I would highly recommend the services of Covers Wonen, especially to expats or foreign buyers who need honest, first-class assistance with buying a home in Utrecht. This was simply the best experience we have had with a real estate agent over many years in different countries.

I rented my last apartment two years ago via Covers Wonen, but the experience recently ended on a very sour note. When the landlord decided to sell the property, I did my utmost to meet all their requirements – including removing or hiding my belongings while I still lived there – but when I asked for help, the agency offered little to no support in finding a new home. This was an incredibly stressful experience and I felt abandoned at a time when I needed their help the most. I cannot recommend this agency to anyone who values reliability and tenant support.

I am quite disappointed with Covers. The service is very bad, the communication is poor and slow. Even the simplest things take forever. Avoid it if you can.

Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant encounter with this company. My landlord hired them, so I was forced to work with them. They performed the final inspection of the apartment and deducted money from my deposit without even informing me, after their agent explicitly told me that everything was in order. When I inquired why the money was deducted, they casually said 'poor cleaning,' but provided no further explanation, despite me asking multiple times. Furthermore, they claimed it was my landlord's decision to deduct the money, but my landlord showed me that they had deducted the money before even receiving it back. They stopped responding to emails after I confronted them. Do yourself a favor and avoid working with this agency; I wouldn't trust them.

In this market, many companies are trying to profit from the ever-increasing prices, and Covers Wonen is no exception. This isn't a problem, but the way they do it is by accommodating the landlord as much as possible, in order to convince them to use their services. Unfortunately, that means that at Covers Wonen there is an enormous amount of tenant-unfriendly clauses in the rental agreement, which are NOT market conform (compared to our current and previous rental contracts, as well as the rental contracts of colleagues and friends). We strongly advise against Covers Wonen, and if you still decide to go with them, please read all documents carefully before you end up being the loser. We have refrained from renting and are looking for an alternative real estate agent. Finally, our contact person was not competent in navigating the conversation about the contract (or simply didn't feel like it) and lied in the communication (even after demonstrable proof). 0 stars if possible. EDIT: I see that Covers Wonen doesn’t give up, given the reaction. Of course, I am referring to the rental agreement which indicates what changes are taking place according to the general terms and conditions. It's a shame to try and portray me as someone who has never rented before. The 1 star is earned.

All praise for Meta. She is very helpful, empathetic and resourceful. Meta and her team are a great group of professional agents. She promised us in December that we would find a place in February-March, and she kept her word by helping us find our house in Zuilen at the beginning of March. A real recommendation for non-Dutch speakers who want to learn the ins and outs of buying or renting a home or apartment for the first time.

During our rental period (lower apartment in Utrecht, rental period: October 2019 - October 2022) we experienced a lot of moisture and mold. (See attached photos). The landlord ultimately installed a simple bathroom extractor fan as a solution. However, this did not fix the problem. Due to the moisture problem, the mold also spread to the roller blinds (property of the renting party). We informed the renting party in a timely manner that the mold was spreading to the roller blinds. However, this still became an issue when terminating the rental agreement. Now, the cost of the roller blinds has been deducted from our deposit without any explanation. We find it unacceptable that Covers Wonen Makelaars has been ignoring us for weeks. Furthermore, we also find it unacceptable that the renting party has not contacted us either. We would like Covers Wonen Makelaars to contact us and ensure that the withheld portion of the deposit is still paid.

As a tenant, I find that they have provided an excellent service, from arranging the viewing after I responded to the property advertisement, to maintaining contact through all the steps. They even provided a copy of the contract in English so I didn't need to make my own translations. They were always easy to reach and answered my questions promptly. I am lucky to have had them as a counterpart when searching for accommodation in Amsterdam.

Covers & Jonker Makelaars deliver on what they promise you. A very pleasant collaboration with both Bastiaan and Arthur and the rest of the team. We rented out our apartment through Covers & Jonker. The entire process went smoothly. They are very efficient and courteous. They answered our questions quickly and clearly. Thoin and Pam were very helpful.

Covers was responsible for the rental of our apartment for six years. Regarding finding tenants, they did a good job. They were always able to find tenants. Because we live abroad, they were responsible for property management, including checking whether all payments were made. As far as property management is concerned, they offer no value for money. They respond slowly to communication. Both owners and tenants experienced a lack of communication. This resulted in us not being aware of problems with our apartment. The check-in and check-out process went poorly; this led to conflicts between the tenants and us, which could have been avoided if there had been timely and adequate communication. As a result, we had a conflict with our tenants that we resolved. However, this could have been prevented if Covers had done their job properly. We feel they are after quick money and not fulfilling their responsibilities, resulting in poor customer experiences. Meanwhile, they evade any possible responsibility and show no reflection.

Very fine and professional guidance during the purchase of a home. Bastiaan provided us with good advice and even helped us find a home quickly in this housing market that met all our requirements.

Don't rent an apartment if this agency is part of it. They support the fraud of the landlords. Unprofessional communication. We never received reports/photos/evidence, even though it was often requested. After the fraud occurred, they simply started ignoring us.

Unprofessional and unhelpful. The communication was very poor. To give an example: we had a leak problem (large moisture/mold in a wall) that took more than two months to fix. Please take this into account and consider renting from another agency, I have never had such a bad experience.

Warning! Please note that we were scammed by the apartment owners during the move. Covers & Jonker Makelaars did not support us but stopped responding and supported the scam. The owners, out of greed, did not pay back the full amount. Stay away!!!!

The viewings are a facade, the buying party is already in place at the time of publication, this club likes to keep you on a string.

They are undoubtedly good at their core business: selling and renting houses. I was approached because I was a tenant of one of their clients; I was put under quite some pressure to terminate the lease. Things were said about my legal status as a tenant that turned out to be untrue (after verification with a lawyer). I experienced the conversation as very intimidating.

Arthur Covers does business in an unfair and untransparent manner; doesn't communicate with customers and openly belittles them. Unreliable firm.
