Therefore, I want to express my compliments to the entire team for the pleasant cooperation.

Last year I worked with People on the Move when I was looking for my first house. Unfortunately, my experience was far from good and ended on a very unpleasant note: I hired Irene Timmerman as my real estate agent for a rate that was higher than the standard rates in Amsterdam, because she claimed to offer a complete service. Throughout the entire period, I noticed a lack of proactivity on her part in searching for and sharing properties. Her approach lacked thoroughness, causing me to ultimately search for properties myself on Funda and share them with her to schedule appointments, which usually took place just before the closing date. This increased the pressure on decision-making in an already competitive market. She also claimed to have an extensive network of real estate agents, but I quickly realized that this was not entirely true, as she focused more on rentals - even her assessment of properties was from a rental perspective rather than a buying perspective. With the little progress we made over almost a year, I decided to terminate the contract. I gave her feedback and asked her to part ways, because I was not satisfied with her services. The contract came with a cancellation fee of € 1500, which, as I learned, is not common, since most real estate agents work according to a 'no cure no pay' approach. When I requested an in-person meeting to share my feedback, she refused to come to Amsterdam because, according to her, the 'gas price was too high'. She also called me 'unsure' and emotional about my search criteria, the criteria she adhered to at the beginning of our contract. She threatened with collection measures if the costs were not paid within two weeks. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and compared to the real estate agent I worked with afterwards, I see the lack of expertise and professionalism of People on the Move. They may have a good reputation in terms of rentals, but I strongly advise against using them as an expat to buy a house in Amsterdam.

People on the move has helped me tremendously in finding a good candidate for renting out my apartment. They are professional, respond quickly and incredibly friendly. They take the worries off your hands and perform a thorough check-in and checkout which benefits both the tenant and landlord.

This company has provided the worst of my rental experiences in various countries. They negotiated on behalf of my landlord regarding the lease terms and termination conditions, but the landlord later did not agree to those terms and did not adhere to them. They had no check-in report, the lease agreement itself, or a signed termination agreement, and admitted that the landlord was known for such practices with previous tenants, but chose to work with them for my rental, where the landlord followed me. The checkout was signed by me and the owner, in the presence of the company that facilitated the agreement. However, when the owner neglected the agreement, the company told me it was between me and the landlord. If you own a house and want to do unethical renting that does not comply with legal agreements, this company will gladly help you. If you are a tenant who is forced to work with this company, ignore everything they say and negotiate directly with the owner, because they make quick arrangements to collect money, but those arrangements never come through. I lost thousands of euros due to these terrible practices.

An absolutely fantastic experience!! We found our dream house three days before our long international trip, but Irene handled everything during our trip abroad. Think about finding a reliable and affordable notary, translations, inspection services and MOR. Buying a house is stressful, and buying a house in a foreign language is extremely stressful!! Irene supported us at every step and always had our best interests at heart. When people didn't deliver what they promised, Irene defended our rights and held them accountable! We work very well with People on The Move and we recommend this company to our expat friends!

Worst experience ever. They did not deposit our security deposit of € 1800 into a secure account and, of course, we didn't get it back, while we left the house in perfect condition. They only asked to find a house for a full month's rent of € 1800. Terrible experience.

Besides the fact that I'm greedy, I also heard that it's even illegal to ask for such an amount for only mediation fees. This is not the first time this happens to my girlfriend and me in Amsterdam, so be careful with your money.

Absolutely great service, fast payments, very good contracts that have been legally checked multiple times. We have already rented out three houses and Andries and Irene were very helpful every time and fit perfectly with us and our tenants. They took our deposit and did not return it. They asked for a deposit of € 1900 CASH, which was not protected by an escrow account, and that's just the beginning. They asked for another € 1900 CASH to find us a living space. In Amsterdam it's very difficult to find a house and we had to accept it because we wanted one so badly. Anyway, we took good care of the house and they came multiple times to check it, especially the homeowner. Their excuse for not returning the deposit was that we had paid too much for electricity, while according to the contract we had € 109 in bills per month and the electricity costs in the Netherlands are very low. Also, they never showed us the bills as proof upon request. We decided to move because the homeowner, for a new contract, asked € 2200 without internet and he also wanted to take back the television. He clearly indicated that he had financial problems and wanted to increase the rent. When we asked for the deposit back because we needed to move, they first said that they had given it to the homeowner, without any form of communication. Naturally, that CASH deposit had long been spent. In a conversation with our lawyer he said that we would certainly win and get the deposit back, but ultimately it was not worth the cost and time. Since we were three people and had to split the deposit, we decided together with the office not to go further with it, although they were very helpful and positive. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD, because all real estate agents try to come across as friendly and most other real estate agents are very reliable, but this is one of the worst I've ever experienced. Don't get involved with them, terrible experience.
