Living in NRW is a very clear and pleasant website for a starting tenant. The contact with Nicolette was also very good and pleasant, which has allowed us to make a great start!

We received a bill one year after we moved out of the apartment for €250 in heating costs while the heating in the bathroom could not be switched off and was constantly extremely hot, even during warm periods. Repeatedly raised, but according to NRW nothing could be changed about it. There was no way to change the temperature in the apartment, we were only allowed to turn the heating knobs. But those weren't there in the bathroom and now we are expected to pay for that blunder. In short: not recommended.

I had a very positive experience. NRW Wonen was the only free website where you could quickly find viewings and an apartment. They are always reachable via email or phone and the communication is clear and efficient. Nicolette was particularly incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, always friendly and willing to answer all my questions. I would wholeheartedly recommend NRW Wonen to anyone looking for a quick and reliable way to find an apartment, especially students.

Impossible to get an appointment

Entirely unreliable organization. They will certainly keep your deposit, inventing reasons why the deposit is not paid back, and continue to bother you with invoices under the guise of 'service costs' months later. Your contract contains all sorts of small rules that are advantageous for them but disadvantageous for you as a tenant. Be careful with this organization, especially if you are a new tenant.

I have been applying for rental properties from this agency for two months now. Usually, I apply within minutes of the properties going online and meet all the requirements they set. Nevertheless, I still receive the same generic rejection email a day later, often late at night or on weekends. It really feels like no one actually looks at my applications. I have even requested clarification via email and phone, but they completely ignored me. The whole experience was frustrating and makes the process feel unfair and discriminatory.

I have been using this website for >4 months and it is not trustworthy. The moment you apply for an apartment/studio, availability on the same day, they give you the message 'viewing is full'. They can therefore push you towards more expensive locations.

My family and I recently moved to the Netherlands. As apartment hunters (for rent), we have been to several apartment viewings. We can immediately see the difference, NRW Wonen is the most professional and their apartment is exactly as they described on the website (pararius and their website). It was therefore so easy for us to decide which apartments we wanted to proceed with. Big shout-out to Andy who has been very helpful from the beginning until the check-in date, thank you very much!

The website of NRW and the platform for tenants is clear and easy to use. Logged in within fifteen minutes for a placed rental property and provided as much information as possible, but unfortunately not invited to the viewing. No new situation, just confirmation that with the exorbitant (income) requirements it is only possible for double-income earners or people with a high net income to obtain housing.

I moved to the Netherlands in September 2024 and it was a pleasure to work with NRW-Woenen to find my apartment. The team listened to what I wanted and needed. Close enough to commute to AMS and far enough to have peace and quiet. Nicolette, thank you for everything you did to make my transition to the Netherlands as smooth as possible. Highly recommended!

Found a nice spot through them, and the clear, fast, and friendly communication (especially Nicolette on email, Jessica during viewings and key handover) made the house search and move much less stressful :)

We were helped quickly and very well during our search for a home. NRW Wonen responded quickly to all of our questions and offered excellent support. In short, they offer very professional and customer-focused service!

I could easily write two hours about this, but I won’t waste much time on people who don't deserve it. Here are just a few things: • A lamp exploded in my hand (!), which also caused all the electricity to go out. They offered no help at all, and of course, they made me pay for the lamp! • The house was full of mice. I spent hours and a lot of money sealing up holes, without their help. Still, they charged me because the washing machine was off by a centimeter due to foam behind it and the cabinet wouldn't close. And this was naturally after I told them I didn’t have to pay and that I had done amazing work with the mice. • A week without hot water, no help offered. • And the big one: they are withholding € 1.500 from my deposit for no specific reason. Naturally, they stopped responding. I am also a student, so imagine how low you have to be to treat people this way. Take your time and find a better place; it’s not worth it. Furthermore, it's too expensive compared to other options. Pro tip: Don't pay the last two months of rent. They never return your deposit, so you might as well prevent paying them.

Absolutely a ripoff! After renting for 2 years (originally through Staate beheer, then taken over), they now want to withhold totally unnecessary and uncommunicated work from my deposit. They never answered any of my emails. In addition, the building was not technically working properly, where they said repair requests were being processed (for over 2 years)! And the elevator didn't work for months! Don't rent or otherwise be very careful what you sign and document all communication in writing!

Nicolette helped us very well with the purchase of our apartment. From the moment of the viewing to the actual purchase, she helped us at every step and took the right next steps! This ultimately ensured that we actually bought our apartment within 2 weeks. What a pleasant and good purchasing agent Nicolette is! During the search for a home, they really helped me enormously. What a great team that is! Enough supply of neat, affordable homes and a personal approach. However, when it comes to handling service-related things, this is truly a worthless company (also read the reviews of Duinzigt Wonen BV & Staate Beheer BV, which were the previous names of this company with the same employees). Hassle with service charge settlements, ridiculously high retention of part of the deposit, no flexibility in making appointments, generally difficult to reach. I am very glad that I left there. Which is probably mutual xD

During my long and frustrating house hunt in the Netherlands, I came across NRW Wonen, was kindly invited for a viewing by Jessica (she is super nice, available to provide all necessary information and speaks perfect English) and Nicolette was the one who brought me the long-awaited news: I was finally selected as a tenant, after so many rejections. I've lived there fine enough, but I am very dissatisfied with the handling. I've been waiting for my deposit for a month already. I have emailed several times and then they say that it has been requested from the administration to pay it, but unfortunately I still haven't received it.

I am so grateful for all the help and support from the Nrw team. I have been renting an apartment through them for almost 2 years now, and it has been a pleasant experience. The first point of contact was Tim, who referred us to the right people, and he was so helpful and friendly. During our stay, our contact person was Vivian, who was always available to answer all our questions and help where needed, she was fantastic. Although I am sure they have many clients and people they deal with, it felt as if we were the only ones, which is a great compliment to their team. The apartment that we rented was also beautiful and in a great location. A 'small' thing that they did that made me feel like they went the extra mile was that they regularly had someone come to clean the stairs that connect all 3 apartments (all rented from them). I only have good things to say about them, and I am very grateful for everything.

As a tenant, I am completely dissatisfied with this property manager. Even in cases of acute problems (mold, leaks, moisture issues), it takes over 6 weeks before the property manager makes an appointment to resolve these issues, and subsequently fails to keep the agreed appointments multiple times.

I would not recommend this company. The real estate agent is there to help you with finding property. I have written several messages with questions about renting an apartment and received no response. Previously, a real estate agent was someone who effectively acted in times of need, but nowadays a real estate agent does nothing and takes money. I do not recommend this real estate agent.

I wouldn't recommend it, I've been dealing with a collapsed ceiling for a week where NRW-beheer/wonen isn't doing anything about it. Furthermore, they’ve blindly switched over almost the entire team from Staate Beheer B.V., who haven’t been properly assessed and have quietly slipped away. Same contact person as before, so they know what kind of house we are in during the 7 years I’ve been talking to them. Gross negligence, don't offer it via NRW wonen because you get squeezed dry where you stand and you can do nothing, only being snarled at or demeaned.
