Recently I visited a viewing for an apartment for which I had applied through NRW Wonen. Although I decided not to continue my application because the apartment was not the right size, I still wanted to leave a review to highlight the great professional experience I had with agent Jessica. From my arrival and throughout the entire viewing, Jessica guided us professionally and kindly through all necessary information. She clearly answered every important question, warmly welcomed everyone, and her cheerful, friendly personality made the experience truly pleasant. As the only English-speaking applicant at the viewing, she was so kind to go over the details in English for me, which I greatly appreciated. I would also like to mention how intuitive and transparent the entire online process was. The dashboard on the website made everything clear and easy to navigate, avoiding the stress of constant emails. This really took a lot of pressure off during my house hunt. No good experiences. I will never ever have my house rented through this company again. Poor service, responds little to no emails. Anything but customer-friendly, poor business acumen so... They don't even deserve that one required star.

My experience with NRW was absolutely 5 stars! And 6 stars for Nicolette, who was always ready to help! Thank you Nicolette! They were very professional and at the same time understanding of my specific circumstances. They offered assistance with all sorts of things that come with moving, such as internet, a housing permit, etcetera. Moreover, the entire process went very transparently and smoothly.

Seriously the biggest scammers. They are seriously abusing the overheated housing market in terms of rental costs and treatment of landlords. Repairs take months. Also, the costs charged upon departure are disproportionate; to get your deposit back, you shouldn't have lived there. Subsequently, we were also charged for items we never received (and which were not in the check-in report). After a lot of emailing and calling, we receive the message that they will waive the charges out of 'generosity'? Make sure you take photos everywhere yourself and double-check everything.

We had to wait 6 months and threaten legal action to get the processing of our deposit. Not only do they not want to return our deposit, but they are also charging us an absurdly high final bill for the work they carried out. The work in question? Painting the walls. These walls had no holes and only a few scratches that should fall under normal wear&tear. Because we don't have money for a lawyer, they get away with this. I don't know if you are scammers or just very bad at your job, but this is really too much to bear. Go find a real job and contribute something to society instead of playing the role of a predatory landlord. Disgusting.

I had a fantastic experience with Nicolette and the real estate agency. During a very stressful search for an apartment, she was incredibly friendly, professional, and responsive. Even when I had questions or doubts, she took the time to explain everything and offer support. I greatly appreciate how smooth and human the process felt – something you rarely encounter in a tight rental market. A definite recommendation!

Warning: unreliable landlord! NRW Wonen (also check reviews of Duinzigt / Staate Beheer) I strongly advise everyone not to enter into business with NRW Wonen. After a good pre-check and correct handover, I did not receive a cent back from my deposit. Moreover: bizarrely high costs were imposed for defects without any prior communication, without any real specification, explanation or justification. Requests for access to the check-in documents are ignored, communication is absent or vague, even in response to questions from a lawyer. To top it all off, bills of hundreds of euros for extra heating and service charges also arrived after my move (up to two years later!), while rent was inclusive. I am not alone: several former residents have been in contact and have exactly the same experiences. This is not an isolated incident; it appears to be a structural business model. Don't fall for it!

Thanks to this real estate agency, more specifically Mrs. Nicolette, we were able to move from Switzerland to the Netherlands. She gave us the chance and the opportunity to live in one of their beautiful, clean apartments for expats in the center of The Hague. After a half year of tireless and fruitless searching for an apartment over a huge distance, we were lucky with this agency. Since then that time is past and we are very sorry to have to say goodbye, as our expat rental agreement only lasted six months. Living in NRW is a very clear and pleasant website for a starting tenant. The contact with Nicolette was also very good and pleasant, which has allowed us to make a great start!

We received a bill one year after we moved out of the apartment for €250 in heating costs while the heating in the bathroom could not be switched off and was constantly extremely hot, even during warm periods. Repeatedly raised, but according to NRW nothing could be changed about it. There was no way to change the temperature in the apartment, we were only allowed to turn the heating knobs. But those weren't there in the bathroom and now we are expected to pay for that blunder. In short: not recommended.

I had a very positive experience. NRW Wonen was the only free website where you could quickly find viewings and an apartment. They are always reachable via email or phone and the communication is clear and efficient. Nicolette was particularly incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, always friendly and willing to answer all my questions. I would wholeheartedly recommend NRW Wonen to anyone looking for a quick and reliable way to find an apartment, especially students.

Entirely unreliable organization. They will certainly keep your deposit, inventing reasons why the deposit is not paid back, and continue to bother you with invoices under the guise of 'service costs' months later. Your contract contains all sorts of small rules that are advantageous for them but disadvantageous for you as a tenant. Be careful with this organization, especially if you are a new tenant.

I have been applying for rental properties from this agency for two months now. Usually, I apply within minutes of the properties going online and meet all the requirements they set. Nevertheless, I still receive the same generic rejection email a day later, often late at night or on weekends. It really feels like no one actually looks at my applications. I have even requested clarification via email and phone, but they completely ignored me. The whole experience was frustrating and makes the process feel unfair and discriminatory.

I have been using this website for more than 4 months and it is not trustworthy. As soon as you sign up for an apartment/studio availability on the same day, they notify you that the viewing is full so that they can lure you into more expensive homes.

The website of NRW and the platform for tenants is clear and easy to use. Logged in within fifteen minutes for a placed rental property and provided as much information as possible, but unfortunately not invited to the viewing. No new situation, just confirmation that with the exorbitant (income) requirements it is only possible for double-income earners or people with a high net income to obtain housing.

I moved to the Netherlands in September 2024 and it was a pleasure to work with NRW-Woenen to find my apartment. The team listened to my wishes and needs. Had to move out of my previous home and searched for months for a new place through various channels, and I found NRW's approach by far the most pleasant. Found a nice spot through them, and the clear, fast, and friendly communication (especially Nicolette on email, Jessica during viewings and key handover) made the house search and move much less stressful :)

We were helped quickly and very well during our search for a home. NRW Wonen responded quickly to all of our questions and offered excellent support. In short, they offer very professional and customer-focused service!

I could easily write two hours about this, but I'm not going to waste too much time on people who don't deserve it. So, here are a few things: • A lamp exploded in my hand (!), which also caused the power to go out. They offered no help whatsoever, and of course, they made me pay for the lamp! • The house was full of mice. I spent hours and a lot of money sealing up holes, but they didn't help. Still, they charged me for the washing machine that was off by a centimeter because there was foam rubber behind it and the cupboard wouldn’t close. And this, of course, after telling me I didn't have to pay and that I had dealt well with the mice. • A week without hot water, no help. • And most importantly: they are withholding €1.500 from my deposit without giving a reason. Of course, they don’t respond anymore. I am also a student, so imagine how low you have to be to treat people like that. Take your time and find a better place; it's not worth it. Moreover, it is too expensive compared to other options. Pro-tip: Don't pay the last one or two months’ rent. You won’t get your deposit back anyway, so you might as well not pay them.

Absolutely a ripoff! After renting for 2 years (originally through Staate beheer, then taken over), they now want to withhold totally unnecessary and uncommunicated work from my deposit. They never answered any of my emails. In addition, the building was not technically working properly, where they said repair requests were being processed (for over 2 years)! And the elevator didn't work for months! Don't rent or otherwise be very careful what you sign and document all communication in writing!

Hassle with service charge settlements, ridiculously high retention of part of the deposit, no flexibility in making appointments, generally difficult to reach. I am very glad that I left there. I've lived there fine enough, but I am very dissatisfied with the handling. I've been waiting for my deposit for a month already. I have emailed several times and then they say that it has been requested from the administration to pay it, but unfortunately I still haven't received it.

I am so grateful for all the help and support from the NRW team. I have been renting an apartment through them for almost two years and it was a very pleasant experience. The first point of contact was Tim, who referred us to the right people, and he was so helpful and friendly. During our stay, Vivian was our contact person, who was always available to answer all our questions and help where needed. She was fantastic. Although I am sure that they have many customers and people with whom they do business, it felt like we were the only ones, which is a big compliment to their team. The apartment we rented was also beautiful and in a great location. One 'small' action they took that made me feel like they went that extra step was that they regularly sent someone to clean the stairs that connect all three apartments (all of which are their rental apartments). I only have good things to say about them and I am very grateful to all of them.

As a tenant, I am completely dissatisfied with this property manager. Even in cases of acute problems (mold, leaks, moisture issues), it takes over 6 weeks before the property manager makes an appointment to resolve these issues, and subsequently fails to keep the agreed appointments multiple times.

I would not recommend this company. The real estate agent is there to help you with finding property. I have written several messages with questions about renting an apartment and received no response. Previously, a real estate agent was someone who effectively acted in times of need, but nowadays a real estate agent does nothing and takes money. I do not recommend this real estate agent.

I wouldn't recommend it, I've been dealing with a collapsed ceiling for a week where NRW-beheer/wonen isn't doing anything about it. Furthermore, they’ve blindly switched over almost the entire team from Staate Beheer B.V., who haven’t been properly assessed and have quietly slipped away. Same contact person as before, so they know what kind of house we are in during the 7 years I’ve been talking to them. Gross negligence, don't offer it via NRW wonen because you get squeezed dry where you stand and you can do nothing, only being snarled at or demeaned.
