Great agency! I have rented from several agencies in Groningen before, but the service of DC Wonen is amazing! Good communication, transparency and quick response. They were polite when I asked them for a certificate of deregistration from the previous tenant (which caused problems in the past when I rented from another agency) and handled everything neatly; thank you Chiem. The only downside was that I received one key instead of two (which I originally had) when replacing the locks in my building, which made things a bit more difficult with scheduled repairs etc.; I couldn't ask a friend to be present without arranging for me to pass on and pick up my only key. That said, it is a very small problem and I would still give 6/5 stars if I could!

Very fast boys who treat you like a student. Together with my partner, I have a successful company and am a registered accountant. They then ask for a guarantee from our parents to rent an apartment while we actually make a very high profit every year. It all had to be done quickly too, with an immediate large upfront payment to DC Wonen instead of the landlord?! We got a really weird feeling about it. I would stay far away from here!

My elderly stepfather has been offered an apartment after a few viewings. The price/quality ratio is excellent, there is clear communication about the order of steps to be taken. The handover is outstanding, everything is well documented and contact has also been made with the previous tenant. This allowed some items to be taken over. The key handover wasn't pleasant. You pick up the key and figure it out yourself. We’ve never experienced anything like this with a rental property before. The apartment is nice. There is some leakage in the roof, but they said a new roof is coming. Communication was good. That you have to pay a deposit if you want an option on the apartment and don't get it back if you then don’t want the property, we’ve never had that with another landlord.

After posting this review, I received a VERY unfriendly email, namely; Dear Mr.****, We noticed your Google review with 1 star last weekend. We believe there might have been a better way to address your concerns, but it seems you had already formed your conclusion and didn't feel the need to hear our side of the story. This says a lot about you as a person that you would leave a 1-star review based on this. We are happy to know what kind of person you are beforehand and we are relieved that you do not rent living space from us. We kindly request you to no longer respond to our building on our website.

Not really a good rental company. They practically ignore you after you sign the contract. They don't even come to your room to pick up the key when you move out. They expect you to go there and hand it over. But more importantly: they also absolve themselves of all responsibility after handing over the rooms. This leads to students potentially being exploited by misbehaving landlords or living in rooms in a deplorable condition, and that the 'office' never takes any responsibility or helps in any way. Only use them as a last resort.

Communication between colleagues is poor and fulfilling their own delivery conditions is a minus 0. One person doesn't know what the other does, says, or agrees upon. They don't understand the cases of their clients. Unnecessary high costs as a result, but they take no responsibility for this while it’s due to their actions. They want you to deliver the property in perfect condition yourself while the renovation at handover is very poor or there are defects. A joint solution isn't sought and leave their landlords exposed. You get the feeling that abuse is being made of the fact that everyone with high need is looking for a home. You have to decide within 24 hours and pay an xx amount. Agreements made for takeover are not kept due to poor communication. Various stories of poorly maintained or broken items that take months to fix, leading to even more costs and creating dangerous situations. Is the owner aware of this?

Terrible agency. On Kamernet, they don't respond at all. I have probably sent 15 or more applications to different properties and haven't received a single response. I’ve even sent multiple messages about some offers and still haven’t received anything. It's just as embarrassing to use their website; you react to a property you are interested in and receive notification three to four weeks later that it is already occupied. Interested in wasting time and energy? Talk to a brick wall or contact DC Wonen!

I've been living through DC for a while now, it’s a pleasant place to live and it was arranged quickly. Unfortunately, when something breaks you can only email, because you are rarely connected by phone. The interaction with the residents is mediocre. They just walk into the house without prior notice for a viewing. Communication is worthless, and they mainly want to make money from students, because the housing itself often needs maintenance.

Unfriendly, unprofessional. I have been a tenant with DC Wonen for 1.5 years. I actually had a bad experience with this company from beginning to end. Among other things: - Never answering the phone, everything must be done by email - Our house was full of defects that were not disclosed to us during the viewing - They wrongly blame the tenant for problems - Defects are remedied superficially, often by amateurs after working hours, you know what that means. - Something usually only happens after repeated reminders or even after a formal notice - Neighbors were without heating in winter, this was not handled adequately at all. In the meantime, they have the audacity to send a hefty surcharge due to rising prices - They always take the landlord's side, even if he lets a monumental building in the city center decay Conclusion: definitely don't rent from these amateurs
