I had invited Maat Makelaars to appraise our house because we wanted to renovate it. What we found pleasant was that the realtor also immediately gave tips for renovating our house. What do you see reflected in the value directly, and what not. They had various addresses of people in the construction industry that we could contact and could already give a rough indication of the prices we should take into account. If we ever want to move again, I will call Maat Makelaars again. A realtor who thinks along with you!!

Good information and accessibility

A professional and, if necessary, quickly acting real estate agent, but above all clearly and honestly about expectations when selling the property in the current market.

Not transparent realtor behind a friendly facade. Offer must be made by email (no sealed envelope, notary involved etc.) and after the deadline, the realtor contacts the seller. As a bidder, you then hear a day and a half later that your offer (well above the asking price) was good but that the ‘winner’ matched the bid and did not stipulate the only condition I gave (building inspection) as a condition. Although this scenario is not very likely, it is possible. However, a much more likely scenario is that this realtor consciously chooses this non-transparent way of working so that when closing the market he can present the best offer to a friendly realtor/real estate agent who can then match it. Why would a realtor choose such a non-transparent way of working? For me, this realtor goes on the blacklist both privately and professionally. As a seller, you must realize that with such a realtor you will not get the best bid out of the market, because people who recognize this practice will no longer want to bid (that lesson I have now learned). As a bidder, you can save yourself the trouble of bidding, as the offer only serves to determine the baseline of the buyer in the back room of this realtor from ‘Palermo aan de Maas’.

We had a bad experience when buying a house. The real estate agent indicated that if we really wanted the house, we should just drop the termination clauses. We didn't do this because we definitely wanted to have a building inspection carried out anyway. After negotiation, our written offer with termination clauses was accepted. We repeatedly requested a purchase contract but it wasn’t drawn up, according to them because they were busy... We were advised in a detached and emphatic manner to first have a structural inspection done because there were more interested parties and we had to hurry. Which we did then. Thank God! Because there were quite a few hidden defects. These hidden defects, determined by the structural survey, we emailed to them so that they are aware of this and must share it with the next buyers. Let's hope that happened! We only received the following response to our email: 'This confirmation only indicates that the email has been displayed. It does not guarantee that the email has been read.' The attitude of the company regarding the advice to drop the termination clauses, then not drawing up the preliminary purchase contract and subsequently not responding to our feedback, means that we no longer trust Maat Makelaardij.

Appointment made to put the house on the market with agency. A lot still needed to be done according to Maurice, 'in this condition it isn’t worth much I fear' I hear Maurice say. He gave a VP (valuation price) where you can’t buy a house for on the Donderberg mountain. (with all due respect) Ultimately, we made a decision with another real estate agent. Result (nothing changed about the house) and bids above the vp that agency had in mind if we were to renovate the house. We strongly felt that agency quickly wanted to 'score'. A pity this is. Not professional and certainly doesn’t think along.

During a viewing, our questions and comments were not taken seriously at all. In fact, we were ridiculed. It felt as if we were wasting their time. Furthermore, after the viewing, we submitted a complaint by email, which was completely ignored. This says enough about the company. As a professional company, I would always handle such a complaint properly. Of course, this should not be a reason not to choose the property. But in this case, we had another property in mind in the same price range and the unpleasant attitude of the real estate agent certainly influenced our choice. Hopefully, a lesson learned for next time not to have prejudice against your customers. Nevertheless, much success is wished with your company!
