They helped us with the rent of the apartment when we just moved to the Netherlands. That was really a good choice. We enjoyed living in that apartment. After a year, we decided to take out a mortgage and also made use of the help of Expat Makelaar. We are lucky that we relatively quickly found a house. Expat Makelaar helped us with terminating the rental agreement, before the official end date of the contract. They also gave good advice about general matters such as good shops nearby, moving service, renovation/remodeling etc. We are very happy with the service we received.
