I collaborated with Roos and she was amazing: she gave us an idea of what was possible, the current prices, how we needed to prepare for the move as soon as we found a home, and coached us through the big and small details during our search for a home in the US. She was the point of contact for correspondence with potential landlords, conducted video viewings, and even returned multiple times to inventory the furniture and kitchen appliances so that we could better understand what we needed to pack and purchase once we arrived at the apartment. She helped us arrange utilities and really helped us out of a fruitless apartment search, where we were able to move in within about three weeks. An amazing team. My girlfriend and I bought a house after Corona, a difficult time. House27 put us at ease quickly. Fast and clear communication, a calm and familiar feeling through experience, and smart solutions that are simply logical. A WhatsApp group was created with me, my girlfriend, our real estate agent, and an office manager who helped with scheduling viewings. Questions, quick actions, updates, appointments; everything was handled quickly and clearly. Elwin, our real estate agent, advised us during the viewings and when we found our house, it was the house that gave us a good price. He also recommended a very good mortgage advisor and notary. As a Dutch-English speaking couple, my girlfriend sometimes receives less communication than I do. They just spoke 'in Dutch with me, because that's easier'. Not with House27; all communication in the WhatsApp group took place in English. This showed us that every customer of House27 is treated with the same high quality of care and professionalism.

We are the proud owners of a small piece of historic Amsterdam city center, a beautiful, recently restored building with two apartments of approximately 100 m² each on the Prinsengracht. We became owners about six years ago and decided to use one of the apartments as our Amsterdam base and rent out the second apartment to generate income. A few years ago we moved back to the Netherlands as permanent residents and settled in a more rural area, not far from Amsterdam. We have retained the building on the Prinsengracht because we find the house so wonderful and it has proven to be a very good investment. I would never do business with this party. Simply not clean through and through. They go back on agreements and are very pushy about collaborating with certain parties, such as a notary and mortgage provider.

I called them three times to request their services and each time they noted my name and phone number and promised to call me back, but they never did. Eventually, I called for the fourth and last time. This time they asked for my email address so that they could send me all the information, but of course I received nothing from them. This was really surprising, since all the other brokers I called were happy to help me find an apartment and responded very quickly.

Good real estate agency

At 27 Huis I worked together with Sjoerd Kalwij, and I couldn't recommend him or the rest of the team highly enough. I always felt that Sjoerd wanted the best solution for me and was fully prepared to put in hours helping. He took the time to help me with one option (switching and renovating) which would have actually meant that 27Huis earned *much* less money! When it came to viewing new apartments, I felt like I could really trust his opinion. He pulled me out of a few bad decisions, and so when I found one that got his seal of approval, I could rely on it. :-) I felt like he did extra homework and extra work to make sure it was the right decision, and that everything went smoothly. Couldn't recommend it strongly enough.

I had asked them for help a few weeks prior in finding an apartment and initially they seemed very friendly and helpful. But when the date arrived to move to Amsterdam, they didn't send me any options. No help at all. My contact person was Dominique Groothuis, who probably spends more time on her Instagram than finding a house for you.

Great experience buying my first house. I worked with Alex Visser and he was super helpful throughout the entire process, from the initial meeting to the final completion. If they say that they are renting out their apartment on a 'no cure, no pay' basis, that is NOT TRUE. Just look at article 13.f and 13.g in the contract. The other real estate agents I engaged were honest with their 'no cure, no pay' promise and did not charge me when they could not rent it out. 27 Huis had 4 weeks to rent my house and brought along 2 visitors to view it (neither of them wanted it). I listed it on Facebook. Within 12 hours I had arranged 4 viewings, 3 showed up and all three wanted to rent it.

Great for expats! Friendly service, which is excellent! I have used them for renting, selling and buying homes in Amsterdam. I've been using their services for ten years. They speak perfect English and Dutch. The owner is himself an expat and knows all the pitfalls and advantages of renting, buying or selling in a rapidly changing market.

I DO NOT recommend renting from this agency. I rented an apartment on Warmoesstraat. When I wanted to stop renting, I informed the landlord of this. She asked if I could leave two weeks earlier so she could rent out the property. Until then, everything was fine... Although I was hardly ever there (because I am an expat and travel a lot) and took good care of the property, there were no problems during check-out. I even received compliments on how clean the property looked and how kind I was to want to leave earlier. After that, I heard nothing more from the landlord. She withheld half of my deposit because she claimed she had never asked if I could leave earlier, while I have the proof by mail and the realtor in cc. I contacted her several times, but she refused to answer her email or take the phone call. The realtor admitted that the landlord was wrong, but took no action or responsibility (the contract was drawn up by them). Later they changed this story. They lied about the fact that the new tenant would not rent the property anymore and that I was responsible for payment until the end of the contract. It later turned out that this was not the case. We never got our money back...
