The ultimate Amsterdam real estate agent. I strongly advise you to seek an alternative where possible. After being insulted on the phone during price negotiations, they try together with the landlord to maximize the deposit at the end of your rental period. For example, we were charged the full amount for a washing machine that was included in the rent and which they said needed to be replaced. Also, carpet and wall paint, with minimal wear and tear, had to be completely redone at our expense.

I found my apartment in Amsterdam thanks to Absolute Housing. The real estate agent was incredibly patient with all my requests and also very professional and friendly. I definitely recommend Absolute Housing if you are looking for an apartment in the Amsterdam jungle.

I called the office number for the first time to describe my situation, as I am looking for a rental apartment. I was called back by Wytse and I must say that I experienced very unfriendly behavior from him. I explained to him that I am an expat student who has lived in Amsterdam for years and told him about my situation and budget (which is quite high, 2500 euros per month). He immediately rejected me and claimed that it is not his policy to house people with foreign income. Overall, he was aggressive on the phone and said I should ask my landlord if I had any objections. Why would you say you house expats if a foreign income statement is a dealbreaker? Unprofessional and rude, I do not recommend! UPDATE: Wytse called me this morning and tried to intimidate me into removing the review. Only after I agreed was he kind enough to admit yesterday during our phone call that he had been unprofessional. Wytse claims that a budget of 2500 euros per month for a two-room apartment in Amsterdam is equivalent to 'trying to buy a Ferrari with 1000 euros in your pocket'. This is a prime example of the sad state in which the Amsterdam housing market currently finds itself and I quote Wytse from today: 'I work for the landlords and not for you'.
