I must honestly say that I am quite satisfied with the service provided by Booij Makelaars in Amsterdam: I could always rely on them. It started with the professional help I received during the purchase process of the real estate and continued when it was time to find a good tenant for me: I only had to wait 1 month before this happened! But their helpful service went even further: when the tenant once claimed a broken washing machine, they even took on the task of purchasing a new one in my name and having it delivered to the apartment. Because this could not happen via the stairs, they also arranged a lift a few days later to get the washing machine from outside to the apartment on the 3rd floor. I am indeed quite impressed by their impressive commitment, which they show!
Highly skilled, personal assistance and always available to help and advise. Very present at viewings, allowing us to get a good picture of the pros and cons of each house. Ultimately found exactly the home we wanted. Absolutely recommended!
Thank you very much for the good, friendly, professional care during the sale of my house. Thanks again, I am glad that I went into business with your office.
Top realtor.
Straight through sea, no-nonsense ..
The manager absolutely did not want to cooperate with the rental of an apartment, blocked everything without any reason. Not recommended this party.
Bob and his team delivered good work for us. The process went smoothly and without problems. Therefore, we do not hesitate to recommend them.
We don't like giving bad reviews, but our experience with this Real Estate Agent was unfortunately not good. I think they ultimately (in our case) fully represented the owners, which we understand, but I think they went too far in terms of things like disputes/deposits.
I received a very good recommendation about Booij from a good friend of mine. They were great! I managed to successfully sell my property while being abroad. They arranged everything for me! As an expat, I can only say: watch out for little doggie brokers who like to take advantage of you! Tom and Bob are a dying breed of honest, respectful, and professional real estate agents.
Unfortunately unfriendly to expats, or perhaps women. My Dutch male partner had to handle all communication, despite the fact that I found our house, managed all documentation and contracts, and was essentially the primary tenant. A real disappointment, we loved our apartment, but we literally encountered months of major problems, such as leaks and a broken heating system, which led us to decide to move to another place. We were also verbally abused by the older man in the office, who didn't remember that we lived in one of the apartments they manage when we tried to check on a large repair that should have been done within a few days and instead was done a month later. Very unprofessional and embarrassing, and the other positive reviews at least support one point I’ve made. If you don’t like expats, then don’t do business with them.
I would recommend this realtor. Very skilled and decisive with many years of experience (and you notice it!). Came to a perfect purchase, despite some challenging factors. Pleasant communication. In short, I recommend Booij Makelaardij Amsterdam to everyone!
We were extremely pleased with the service provided by Booij Makelaardij when selling our apartment in Amsterdam. It's very nice to have someone who really makes a huge effort to find buyers and achieve the best possible price. But also in the further process of preliminary purchase agreement, inspections, transfer etc., Booij helped us greatly and arranged everything. This is not a real estate agent who creates a beautiful brochure and then sits back. This is an agent who actively and effectively protects the client's interests.
Received very good help with the search for a (unique) rental property in Amsterdam. I recommend everyone who is looking for a real estate agent with heart for the business and attention to the customer to contact Booij Makelaardij!
Unfortunately a very unpleasant and stress-inducing experience with Booij, once the contract was signed, it was also finished with help or clear communication. Below are some examples. For questions such as 'four of the five outlets aren't working, can that still be repaired?' we received the answer 'Then use an extension cord'. All doorknobs were so loose that it seemed like you were pulling them out of the lock every time they were used. When asked if this could be repaired, we received the answer 'No, we won't do that'. The inspections (damages) that we noted and recorded were ignored and not included in the inspection report. In the winter of 2019/2020, the central heating didn't work, so we were without hot water and heating for a long period, and when we asked for an update regarding the repair, they said 'we can’t be dealing with you 24/7'. When there were heavy leaks in the window frame causing significant amounts of water to come in, we were told that the VVV was being involved and that we would be kept informed about the repairs. More than two months later without updates, their own handyman (not VVV) came along, pulled a piece of rubber out of the window and gave us the solution 'Don't use this window anymore'. Ultimately, we had to find out through a colleague why so many things were being refused repair. Booij never told us that there was no property management; if this had been mentioned during the viewing or contact meeting, a contract would never have been signed. I advise nobody to do business with this company based on the experiences I’ve had.
I am a building inspector and not a fan of real estate agents, but Tom Booij is an absolutely honest old school agent who really wants the best for his client. Nothing is kept under wraps and defects, large or small, are mentioned. This is unique in Amsterdam where most of the agents I know are greedy without any morals. Tom, keep up the good work because you are a breath of fresh air and a blessing for the Amsterdam home buyer. kind regards Fred Tokkie quality always wins
Booij real estate has helped me very well and expertly with the sale of my apartment in Amsterdam. They have a lot of knowledge of the market. The communication was very smooth. Thanks and keep up the good work.
