Through CITYHOP we had a viewing. After having submitted all our documents and several attempts at email and phone contact, we still heard nothing 3 weeks later. A short message would have been nice, even if we hadn't been selected. Especially considering the absurd amounts they ask for (€1800 euro for a social rental apartment of 50m2). Typical case of getting rich in your sleep… :)
They handle housing matters very poorly and extremely unprofessionally. Let alone do business with respect for the tenant. Especially Niels Keizer. Avoid.
Pleasant and efficient collaboration with Robert. Instead of spending hours searching on websites, Robert can immediately find something through his contacts with various owners. He understands exactly what I'm looking for and arranges everything. Key handover and follow-up went well!
I want to write this review today to inform future customers how pleasant and reliable the customer service of City Hop Real Estate was. Robert was a great help during the entire moving process, from start to finish. He not only found the perfect apartment for me, but also helped with the installation of a custom-made closet, blinds, and a washing machine and dryer. If you are looking for the perfect apartment in Amsterdam and a team that you can trust to ease the stress of moving, I recommend contacting City Hop Real Estate directly. They take your worries away and find your ideal home!
Thanks to CITYHOP Real Estate, I found a new home within a month, even in these challenging times when it's difficult to find a house. The guidance from Robert from the beginning until the check-in was excellent. In short, if you are looking for a new home, CITYHOP is the perfect partner who acts quickly and transparently!
Had the construction supervision of my apartment carried out by Cityhop. They are a bit pricey, but ultimately I do have a beautiful home that is completely finished.
The CityHop employees provide excellent real estate advice. There is a wide choice of beautiful renovated homes. They treat customers in a correct, smooth and enthusiastic manner. Good experiences.
Very well assisted by Cityhop in finding an apartment in Amsterdam, also thanks to Bart and his determination to help us. Nice Job, thanks!
Terrible experience, avoid this company. In all my previous contacts with a real estate agent, I have never had such an unprofessional experience as here. They promised me a definite answer about an apartment, but I never heard anything else. I tried to contact them several times, but they did not respond. There are many other good real estate offices in Amsterdam that can help you.
I strongly advise people to be extremely cautious when dealing with this realtor. Their dishonesty, negligence, and disregard for the experiences of tenants are concerning to me. The false promises, the persistent construction disruptions, and the discriminatory practices have left me deeply dissatisfied. If you value transparency, honesty, and a respectful approach to tenant satisfaction, you are better off avoiding this realtor and seeking alternatives that prioritize the well-being of their clients.
Watch out! Stupid lies about the house we moved into. They let us bid on rent and said that there 'would be a balcony soon', while in reality the balconies were never built. A few months later it turned out that there was a basement under the apartments we lived in for the entire rental period (1.5 years!) which caused us to wake up every morning around 7 o'clock with vibrating floors and a lot of construction noise. You're better off staying away if there's no interest in the experience of tenants and only exploitation is looked at. Also interesting is that they almost exclusively accepted young women from abroad. It seems like a malicious strategy.
I had a fantastic experience with Bart! He responded very quickly from the beginning and after the viewing he explained everything to me in detail. Robert was also very friendly and the whole process went smoothly. I'm glad I found the right apartment, despite feeling hopeless at first in Amsterdam's tight housing market. My child, my pets and I will greatly enjoy our new apartment thanks to you!
Terrible experience, Bart van Gellekom is one of the worst communicators I've ever come across - unclear, rude and condescending. I would not recommend my enemy to rent a house from him. Maybe my experience would have been different if I were Dutch :(
Great experience with CITYHOP, they communicate quickly and no question remained unanswered. A big compliment to the broker who helped me with my current apartment, I would recommend it to everyone looking for a home in Amsterdam! :)
Poor customer service and unfriendly attitude. It's also interesting that the 5-star reviews come from users without previous ratings. I would be cautious and choose real estate agents with higher ratings.
The staff may come across as a bit rude and unprofessional. There's an undertone that they are so busy that they don't value your business. I would consider engaging another real estate agent and spend your money where it is appreciated.
Unbelievably unprofessional real estate agent. I arranged a viewing for an apartment and made an offer immediately. After asking multiple times over four days for a response and not receiving any, I found out that pets are not allowed. The real estate agent knew from the beginning that I had a dog, but in the advertisement it still says that pets are allowed. I advise against it due to the lack of communication, the rude responses and wasting my time.
Very fast, professional and friendly. Thanks to their help I was able to rent a beautiful apartment within a few days in this crazy Amsterdam market. A real recommendation!
Cityhop helped me find a beautiful apartment on the Nieuwe Keizersgracht canal in Amsterdam. Fast and clear communication, market-compliant rental prices and skilled staff! Many thanks again.
They made an appointment for me to view a renovated apartment that I was interested in. I called at least four times to discuss various things about the property. I was exactly on time for the appointment (which was in their agenda), but they didn't show up. After I called them, they said the apartment had already been rented out. It's still a matter of customer respect to at least call or cancel and not take their time for granted, especially after having had so much contact. Poor service!
Cityhop helped me find my new rental property in the Centre. Fast service, excellent conditions and good guidance throughout the process! I can recommend Cityhop to everyone.
Stay away! They lie about the Dutch law and contracts, they think people know less than them, they dare not respect the law. I had to hire a Dutch lawyer to explain that it is not legal to enter an apartment without the tenant's permission, and that if he would continue with these practices, there would be legal consequences. Robert Zeegers tried to enter the apartment I was renting for a viewing, all without my permission. While I was at work, he thought I wasn't home. I had told him earlier that the date he wanted to show the apartment was not possible for me, so I suggested another date. Yet he came on that date/time and tried to get the viewers in, thinking I wasn't home and that all my belongings were inside! Robert just told me that he can enter any apartment he rents whenever he wants or needs to, without the tenant's permission, because the contract states that and because they are not the owners of the apartment. He always keeps a copy of the keys, so don't doubt that he will do that. I have it on video when he tried to break in and got angry because I told him he is not allowed to enter the apartment I'm renting when he needs to do viewings for the next tenants. He must first ask if someone is available and have the chance to put all belongings in a safe place. Bart also had to show the apartment three times to the next tenants, but never showed up. I had to do the viewings and show the apartment, so I practically did their job. I don't understand why the landlords hire them! TIP OF THE DAY: don't rent from them. If you already do: replace the lock and place cameras at the entrance of your house, because Robert Zeegers can show up while you're at work to do his viewings. Don't let him lie to you, hire a professional to guide you, don't let them undermine your rights. They lie about what the Dutch law says.
Advertisements on their advertisements do not match. The post clearly stated that pets were allowed, but when I was notified of the rejection, the realtor said that pets were not allowed. I have even attached a screenshot of their advertisement stating that pets were allowed, but that I was rejected due to pets. Before the rejection, the realtor also advised me to offer a higher rent in order to be seen as a more favorable candidate. It appears this could have been used to drive bids down among candidates to their advantage.
