Kelly van Cocq Makelaars was warmly recommended to me by several friends who had purchased a home in Amsterdam through him. Limited by a very modest budget and because I had moved to the Netherlands less than a year ago, I had little knowledge of the purchasing process and related administration. Kelly guided me efficiently and very attentively through the entire process, gave me valuable advice and honest feedback, and kept me optimistic at the same time in such a difficult real estate market. I knew that Kelly specializes in the Amsterdam housing market, but he successfully guided me in my search in the Zaandam region. Through teamwork, I managed to make an offer within my budget and win a home. Fortunately, all relevant documentation and procedures (viewings, building inspection, notary) were arranged through him, which relieved a lot of pressure on me during the purchase phase. A real recommendation!

Our communication with Mitch was difficult: appointments were not kept, messages remained unanswered and callbacks did not occur. It gave us the feeling that we, as customers, were not a priority. Ultimately, this contributed to the failure of our sales assignment. Unfortunately, no positive recommendation from our side.

Mitch, as the selling agent, told my buyer's broker that if we offered amount X, we would get the apartment. However, he then remained silent for days, and subsequently sent an email three days later stating that the property had been sold. In my suspicion, our bid was used as a counter-offer, but just be honest and say so.

I have experienced Robert as very involved, knowledgeable and professional throughout the entire process. Always accessible, even on weekends, flexible towards interested parties, and I was always informed briefly and concisely about the progress.

One point I can think of was the WhatsApp messages being sometimes too direct, missing some more detailed information and a “why”, even after I asked (a bit of child treatment let’s say). Also the technical and final inspections I felt we were in a bit of a rush. Besides that, good and fast service. Did not disappoint me for sure.

Contacted this office (in the person of Mitchell Westerduin) as (successful) buyer of an object and that was a bad experience. Appointments are deliberately not kept and the handling of the sale process runs chaotically and unprofessionally for all parties involved. An agency that confirms all negative prejudices about real estate brokerage. Avoid if possible.

The worst agency I have ever come across. They accepted my bid and confirmed it, but came back 4 days later saying they had accepted someone else's bid and asked me for an extra 10,000 euros if I wanted to make the same offer. Unprofessional and greedy. Unheard of. Avoid this at all costs.

We have collaborated with Cocq Makelaars several times and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell in Amsterdam. Sjoerd helped us find our first apartment in De Pijp and later sold it a few years later. We encountered some challenges when purchasing our next home, and Renée helped us through a difficult situation.

Very moderate experience with this brokerage office. The owner is a jovial, nice guy but in my case he let his appointments lapse. Sale value of the house was estimated too high and then a succession of failing to keep promises to come up with an action plan and call back. My house has since been sold by another agency and I also had to add extra costs to the entire deal. Suddenly, the good office would probably have delivered a better price, which I blame Cocq for!

Very happy with the way my wishes and desires were taken into account in this process, which has led to a pleasant collaboration, a suitable buyer for my apartment, and a selling price that I had in mind. Sjoerd is someone you can confidently use for the process. Not pushy at all, yet clear and ‘alert’. Highly recommended!

Very poor service. They told me to call back in 10 minutes, but that never happened. I informed realtor Mitchell that I was interested in the property. He just said he would inform the seller, as if he already knew the seller didn't want to sell to me. Then he said he had an urgent call and needed to leave, and then threw me out of the apartment. A very rude and fake realtor. Maybe they are better for locals or Europeans, but stay far away if you are an expat.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this real estate agent. All administrative matters are handled correctly and appointments are reasonably kept. However, the information provided to the buyer contains elements of unreliability. Not everything that is said is entirely true and shows characteristics of deception. The office was represented in my case by Mitchell Westerduin. Not recommended.

I wonder what went wrong in our case, considering the many positive reviews that we can't share at all. No service from Mitch, sorry. No answer, nor any reaction during the weekend when it was about viewings and bidding on a house. Until today I haven't heard anything from him about what happened that weekend. Had to look for a new real estate agent on Sunday, which luckily worked out. We should have asked Anneke after all, who was initially recommended to us, but we thought the service would be the same, because it’s the same agency... unfortunately not.
