My biggest concern before I moved to Amsterdam was finding a house. But Dutch Housing Centre sent me a viewing list very quickly after my arrival in Amsterdam and was enormously helpful in finding the first house I viewed. Very dishonest people to deal with. There are many other better agencies to work with in Amsterdam. They don't even keep good records, otherwise they react unfairly. They continue to disappoint in every possible way

Rude female telephone operator. When asking if the property was still available and a viewing would be possible, she relentlessly questioned me on the phone. I felt discriminated against as an expat. Ultimately, she hung up on me. Thanks for that.

Over the past three years, I have twice used the services of Dutch Housing Centre to mediate for tenants for my apartment in Amsterdam. Both times were very pleasant. The first time was at the beginning of the pandemic, which meant it took a little longer. However, Esther de Nooij from Dutch Housing was constantly involved and ultimately delivered reliable and trustworthy tenants to me. The second time was earlier this year and also exceptionally enjoyable, and this time very quickly. I can only say good things about agent Esther; communication was fast and clear, and the back office was always available for me (and still is). Again, reliable and trustworthy tenants. I am very grateful to have dealt with Dutch Housing Centre, and Esther is a top performer!

After a year of searching, we had moments with multiple real estate agents that could have been better, but not bad enough to warrant a review. However, the collaboration with Dutch Housing Centre BV was so poor that we almost feel compelled to write a review about it. We responded to a property via Dutch Housing over 1.5 months ago. The contact through the office was extremely cumbersome and slow, and after several phone calls, we reached Jeroen from Dutch Housing. Jeroen quickly proved difficult to reach, and we sometimes had to wait days for a response. We addressed this with Jeroen, and his defense was that he was very busy daily with the work for expats of NIKE. We asked him if it was at least possible for him to give a short reply, but even that wasn't possible. The colleagues at Dutch Housing also didn’t inform Jeroen that we had called multiple times. Jeroen himself stated that he hadn't been aware of our attempts to contact the office. We then contacted the homeowners ourselves. We indicated that we were interested and that we had been trying to get a viewing for weeks. The owner had heard that I had responded 2 weeks ago, but nothing further. The next day, my wife requested a viewing under her own name. That worked immediately! The next day, I was there in the property with Jeroen. After a long conversation, Jeroen stated that everything could be arranged and that he was already fully engaged in discussions with the owner. He also proudly told us that he had extracted our private details, including whether we paid neatly etc. He told us that he had put in a good word for us with the owner (of the new property). He only needed 2/3 days to get it sorted out. We waited again... Days passed, we heard nothing more. Of course, we had already contacted the owner, and the owner told us that Jeroen hadn't directly told him that we had viewed the property. The owner also knew nothing about the 'many good conversations' that Jeroen supposedly had with him on our behalf. Jeroen also casually mentioned to the owner that we were living in 'disagreement' with our current landlord. So, Jeroen hadn’t put in a good word for us at all! We then agreed that we would let Jeroen know that we wanted to have contact with each other and finalize it ourselves; Dutch Housing (Jeroen) only needed to draw up the contract. Another week passed, we heard nothing, until Jeroen suddenly sent an email containing a report stating that he hadn't had time due to family circumstances to create a contract. Strange, as there are 5 people working at the office of Dutch Housing. He later said it was all very complicated, while most points were not legally valid and therefore would not appear in the contract. After a few more days, the owner requested that Jeroen put urgency behind it, we just wanted to finally close it out. The contract arrived 2 days later, with several errors, including the incorrect postal code of the property, the name registration etc., etc. We signed and then the transfer followed. During the transfer, I showed Jeroen my displeasure in a private moment. His defense was that he had indeed done a lot for us. However, Jeroen wasn't aware that we had already contacted the owner. Then Jeroen told me that he had arranged for the owner to contact us!!! Well, that was a lie because the owner and I came up with that ourselves. Jeroen thought it was not nice but overlooked the fact that he was lying... We got the strong impression that Dutch Housing acts as its own judge and jury and wants to decide for itself who gets the property or not. We have a beautiful home, but not thanks to Dutch Housing.

I wholeheartedly recommend Jeroen and his team; they know the market and as a client you are in good and safe hands. A recommendation for everyone!

After you have reviewed them. They no longer responded. At my checkout, I arranged everything myself with the landlord, without any help or supervision from my realtor. No one in my company will experience them again.

I was 5 years their tenant and there is only one good thing I can tell about dutchhousing if you are their tenant: if you submerge your neighbor underwater, they react very well. Bad things - they are very slow in repairing anything, most things take 1-2 months to repair. When I terminated the rent with them, it took two months before I received my first email response regarding the status of my deposit, which was refunded two months and eleven days after I left the apartment. Despite there being no notes on the handover protocol, they charged a small fee for cleaning the apartment and for damaged items that were not damaged by me. I received several long emails and another month before I got those charges reimbursed. Finally, I did not receive an invoice for the cleaning costs, for which they are not legally entitled to charge me, as the handover protocol mentioned nothing. I believe they are too busy to provide the service you would expect while paying rent as high as in Amsterdam and the services that they use to repair things and clean the apartment after you leave, they try so hard to scam that they are looking for a way to cover those extra costs.
