After searching myself for months and getting nowhere, I engaged Diovana and Isabelle. The first attempt with them resulted in an offer on exactly the apartment I wanted. They gave me valuable insights into how the housing market works in the Netherlands, including what to expect from bidding wars per city. That helped me adjust both my expectations and my search on Funda so that I could focus on properties that actually met my requirements. They guide me through every step, so I knew what to expect, and they were always warm and helpful.

Expat Housing Network is unfortunately not set up for independent expats or freelancers. The entire process feels flawed and too restrictive. Their intake form mentions several service areas such as Utrecht and Rotterdam, but only serves Amsterdam – and selecting those other options causes the form to completely fail. The properties on their site are usually already rented out, making it impossible to see what is actually available. There is no map view for properties and communication assumes you already have a Dutch phone number. Moreover, their process silently screens candidates based on income – if you do not meet their internal threshold, the system rejects you directly without offering alternatives such as demonstrating savings or offering prepaid rent. For everyone looking for housing that qualifies for the BRP for the long term, especially freelancers or creatives, this service feels unintuitive and exclusive.

Lilet Lasala was invaluable in selecting a tenant for my apartment in Amsterdam. She was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient while guiding me through Dutch rental law and giving me helpful recommendations to facilitate the process. I can wholeheartedly recommend her.

Overall, I had a great experience with Expat Housing Network, despite my unique situation. I contacted them halfway through the process, after having received an offer on a house, and asked for help with checking documents, filling out the questionnaire, and the price investigation. They handled everything thoroughly. Unfortunately, the deal didn't go through after we saw the results of the building inspection, but EHN continued to support me throughout the entire process. I then requested a full service package, but because they did not have the capacity at that time, they offered a reasonable partial refund of the deposit. There was some miscommunication initially, as things were moving quite quickly, but despite this, I appreciate their professionalism and would wholeheartedly recommend them for real estate support!

Disappointing experience – Unreliable communication – Lack of follow-up and professionalism I booked a call on April 18, 2025 with Expat Housing Network, where they pitched their services to sell houses throughout the Netherlands. I was initially impressed and decided to proceed. However, after expressing interest in hiring them, my emails remained unanswered. I rebooked a phone call on Friday, May 9, 2025, as I had not received a response – and no one answered the office phone after waiting approximately 15 minutes. Subsequently, a meeting was scheduled for today, May 12, 2025, to let me know whether they wanted to accept me as a client. I waited more than 10 minutes in Google Meet, but no one showed up. No communication, no follow-up, no apology. This level of service is very disappointing, especially from a company that claims to support expats with such an important process. I expected much more professionalism and reliability.

Well done, it was a good experience to work with them. I have not experienced any problems in communication, in sales etc. They have won my trust.

We came into contact with Lilet in 2025 through EHN to find a tenant for our building, and were immediately impressed by her professionalism. I'm unfortunately only giving 1 star, because 0 stars is not an option. The planned first introductory meeting was cancelled without prior notice, only 15 minutes after the appointment was supposed to begin. The information I received from this office indicated that with a salary of €60,000 per year I would not be able to afford a rental property in the Netherlands. It is very disappointing to see that expats in the EU receive this level of support from an office that claims to be expat-oriented.
