If you are an expat who is not familiar (or confused) with how things are done in the Netherlands, ask for Doortje as your buyer's agent, since she handles non-Dutch newcomers very well, like me. Although I didn't buy anything from OVDM in Amsterdam due to the runaway house prices in Amsterdam, I am still very happy with the purchase support from OVDM.

Do not refund deposit

Beware, they are operating in bad faith! Regarding the deposit of 3400, we were told that we would only receive 1700 back due to damage to a wooden floor and the cost to make it new. If you have lived there for over a year, you cannot expect everything to be brand new. Subsequently, they sent us only 1300 without prior notice and said they forgot to mention the extra tax. Other people I know have also had problems with this realtor. They are taking advantage of students! Do not rent through here
