We were incredibly lucky to have Sjoerd as our real estate agent. Before we hired him, we had a bad experience with another agent, so we know all too well how choosing the wrong person can affect your apartment search. From the first conversation, we were enormously charmed by his calmness, politeness, and attention to detail. We felt from the start that we were in good hands, which was a huge relief - buying an apartment is incredibly stressful, you want as much help as possible; doubts about your agent can only make things worse. Once we started actively looking and signed up for viewings, Sjoerd did his best to accompany us to all of them. Since we had little to no experience with buying a home in Amsterdam (and the Netherlands), we didn't know what to look out for when evaluating an apartment - things like the quality of construction materials, floor and pipe quality, dates of last renovation, details about groundwork, asbestos, etc. Sjoerd handled everything for us, pointed out the important aspects, and explained what was needed to fix/change anything. During the bidding process, he helped us choose the right bid so we wouldn't overpay. Unreliable realtor. Doesn't keep appointments and 1 star is actually too much. Unfortunately, I cannot respond to the reaction of the owner below and wanted to leave it at the bad review, but the response below asks for some clarification, so here’s what happened: - Tel Krop sold a house via bidding - We had the winning bid - Written confirmation from Monique Krop. List of movable assets shared. Notary confirmed. - The notary prepared the documents for the transfer - The party that had offered less in the bidding process still wanted to offer more, while we already had confirmation of the purchase and the documents were with the notary. We were offered a compensation if we would withdraw, because we were formally the buyers. - Ultimately went with the other buyer anyway, without compensating us. Not only ethically very questionable, but also illegal. I think it speaks for itself that you should stay as far away from Monique Krop as possible.

Attempts to charge 4000 euros because the white paint over the holes in the paintings does not match the magnolia paint underneath, and then withholding the full deposit, are the sort of shady business practices that real estate agents give a bad name. Avoid this real estate agent at all costs.
