At the beginning of this year, contact was made with Driessen real estate agents in Apeldoorn. I myself live in Arnhem but, due to many positive reactions from friends and acquaintances, we still chose this fantastic brokerage firm! From the first moment on, it felt warmer and you noticed more involvement than many real estate agencies in my own area. The expertise about the current housing market was made clear and understandable to me through several conversations. Also, I was clearly asked what my expectations were and how we could best handle the sale. From A to Z, I was taken along with how the processes went and whether I agreed with the ongoing matters. Until the last day during the final inspection of my home, I was pointed out the things that I as a seller still had to arrange. In short, an agency where you can safely leave the sale of your home and which can take away your worries and doubts in this current market.

The sales process of our national monument with Mr. Driessen was TERRIBLE for us. Due to circumstances, we did not switch to another real estate agent prematurely, unfortunately. We had high expectations because he is affiliated with Qualis (the higher segment) and enthusiastically estimated the selling price higher than we did ourselves. What shocked us among other things (!) was that this realtor, as we learned, indicated during viewings that ‘the owners were willing to lower the price’ while there was absolutely no indication of that, it had not been discussed! This realtor did not act in our interest, and we suspect he wanted to rush things. Furthermore, even after our explicit prohibition, he continued to state that there was ‘something with moisture’ in the house, while no problem had been detected after a moisture measurement. Driessen sowed doubt and negatively influenced the sales opportunities. We ultimately did several viewings ourselves at the request of interested parties, also because Mr. Driessen could not answer many questions about the house or surroundings. Regarding contact: we indicated that we wanted a preliminary discussion for an upcoming first bid. He didn’t deem this necessary. The offer came after weeks, during which (we suspect afterwards) Mr. Driessen halted all other viewings. The offer was no less than E260,000,- (23%) lower than his own estimate; here Mr. Driessen, in contrast to ourselves, did not object! Contact quickly became very brief, often at our initiative and eventually via WhatsApp with only one of the owners. It has become clear to us afterwards that Mr. primarily wanted little involvement and to go his own way. Finally, it turned out that the preliminary purchase agreement had been sent to potential buyers without consultation, including all private details including contact information which is unlawful and undesirable! They stated that this is standard procedure. Conclusion, we certainly do not recommend this realtor, we feel ashamed of the trust we gave him.
