Ultimately, I left this situation, and the owners they represented withheld cleaning costs, despite Amstel Vastgoed writing in the report that the apartment was perfectly clean. Essentially, they represent people who hope to profit from the ignorance of foreigners to make quick money. Despicable.

Scam! Alert!! Hey guys, be careful with this agency!! They scammed my wife and me and didn't refund the guarantee. Their target group are expats, because it’s much easier to deceive them. Not only with money, but also without commission at first. They give away overpriced apartments and keep a portion of our money monthly, the tenants’, and maybe pass 50% of the payment on to the owner. For example, if there is a small apartment worth €3000, it’s probably really worth €1500, and they keep the rest monthly, plus the guarantee that they don't return. Instead of fighting with Dutch people in court, it’s easier to scam expats. So please be careful!
