International tenants, take note: extremely biased checkout experience! Checking in at Van Huis Uit went smoothly and easily, but checking out was one of the most unpleasant experiences I've had in the Netherlands. I'm Swedish and during the inspection, the realtor and landlord spoke Dutch with each other about me and the apartment, without translating or involving me in the conversation. They made agreements among themselves about what I would be held responsible for, right in front of me. To make it worse, I was asked to sign the final inspection report on the spot without being able to review it first. The whole process felt unfair and uncomfortable. I've lived in the apartment for three and a half years and never had contact with the real estate office, so I can't say anything about their further customer service, but my checkout experience has left a very negative impression. As an international tenant, it's advisable to bring someone who speaks Dutch and document everything. I'm not sure if this is standard procedure at Van Huis Uit or specific to the realtor they sent.

Of course, good quality and knowledge are a given, but it's also very nice that Huis Uit is personal, involved, accessible and fast. I already knew the quality from our rental via Huis Uit but this sale was exceeding in terms of service.

We had them do the tax return for us. Unfortunately, the communication did not go very smoothly. They told us that their time was being wasted and refused to talk to the bank/notary. I had to call the notary, the bank and the tax office countless times myself to get the communication going. Very frustrating. I have become an expert in Dutch tax return rules and procedures, which totally does not match the idea of hiring a professional to do this for us.
