Good experiences with selling own home, however bad experience with buying new home. Poor communication, always having to chase the real estate agent, ultimately problem not solved

We were going to view a house. However, a few hours beforehand we were informed that the house had already been sold. We didn't even get a chance to look at it. I even took time off work to go and see it. No apology or explanation from the realtor at all...is this how you treat people?!

I had an appointment to view a house that had been listed on funda.nl for some time. I had to wait two weeks because there wasn't an earlier date available. The day before the viewing, I was told that the house had been sold. How unprofessional.

Unreliable realtor. We make an appointment for a viewing, which was only possible in two weeks. A week before the scheduled viewing, we suddenly receive an email that the property has already been sold. That's not how you treat potential buyers, and there is still a good chance that you also disadvantage the seller. We were very keen on this property and would have wanted to offer significantly above the asking price if it was as nice inside as in the photos. We simply never got that opportunity. Disappointment for us and the seller is probably also 'robbed' by Damen. Which is even worse. We called Damen real estate agents to get an explanation about these circumstances. Very coincidentally, everyone was at an appointment, but we would be called back as soon as possible and certainly the same day. We are still waiting for that phone call. Don't do business with these people; they have many bad reviews for a reason.

You immediately see it, stay away from here. 3 dramatic experiences in communication, dealing with customers and ignorance. 1 realtor could only talk about himself, 1 house had already been sold informally to friends beforehand, and the last one 'lost' the bid with questions via email. Too big, no interest, and arrogant realtors who would be better suited for a garage full of old Mercedes-Benzes. Look for a small agency and that was almost an immediate great success for us. Just search for a realtor on Google, especially look for them 'Dichtbij'!! in Limburg.

Poor communication and dealing with people. We do know that if we ever put our house up for sale, we will never do it through Damen.

I have used their financial services to buy my house and I can wholeheartedly recommend their services. My contact person, Mrs. Wouterd, was very helpful and always available to answer my questions. If you work in Germany and want to apply for financing from a Dutch bank, I strongly advise you to contact her, as not every Dutch bank finances this application.

If you want to buy a house through a real estate agent and properly arrange your mortgage affairs from A to Z, you don't have to look far. Damen Heerlen is the best in the region! They helped me completely, all the way to the key transfer. The time was a record, and I am not exaggerating. I would like to thank: - Rose for the beautiful house she found for me. - John for carefully arranging my mortgage, despite my delicate situation!

I bought my first home through Damen at the time, and had intended to buy something here again if possible, given that things went very well then. But unfortunately, times have changed, and so has this company. Viewed, made an offer, and assured that there were no other parties involved and I would hear something asap. Only to find out a week later via funda that it was sold. One of his colleagues only mentioned during another viewing that the house had a bad asbestos roof, and we were wasting each other's time. End of the story, no more Damen for me!

Had a good experience with Damen. Received good and honest mortgage advice from Dennis and, as the icing on the cake, our house was successfully sold within 4 weeks by Rik. Thanks for the pleasant guidance from the initial exploratory conversation to the final inspection!

Our new house purchased from Damen through realtor Rik and our existing house sold by realtors Kenny and Linda. Mortgage also arranged at Damen by top mortgage advisor Isabelle. A top team! Knowledgeable, results-oriented and very friendly!

Really bad, we had a viewing, and we were really interested in it, requested a second viewing to then make an offer, but we heard nothing. I called and found out someone else had already made an offer, even though we went to look on Thursday, called Friday for the 2nd viewing and to make an offer. We were told there was no competition, that there wasn't much demand for that house, so I was furious without returning a call, just letting someone else make an offer. Called Fred Zinken, the useless realtor, three times, and also called the office, they said they would call back, it’s already been 3 days later and many phone calls further, but no Fred Zinken on the line. He senses something fishy, my advice, NEVER do business with THIS REAL ESTATE AGENT 😡

Wanted to sell the property through Damen, however ''broker'' Lars was mainly gossiping and badmouthing other colleagues, brokers and clients. Very arrogant attitude. Is not a certified broker himself but claims to be much better than his colleague Mark. All in all, it was a very unpleasant contact. Choosing another broker was quickly decided because of this.

On Monday we viewed a property that was for sale through Damen and submitted a bid. This bid was immediately accepted. After no data had been requested by Wednesday, we made telephone contact, after which the response came that things hadn't gone well. However, on Thursday we were suddenly called to say that a higher bid had nevertheless been accepted. This would have been placed by people who spontaneously visited the sellers at their door! Given that we were very indignant about this, we immediately contacted the sellers. They stated that no one had spontaneously visited the door, but after accepting our bid, several viewings still took place without informing us of this. We therefore not only lost the house in a terribly unpleasant way, but the estate agent also told untruths about what happened. We believe that an honest estate agent does not play these tasteless games with buyers!

The realtor was supposed to call me back. She did, but she was very stiff and abrupt. Apparently, you're not allowed to ask questions anymore. Mrs. wasn’t a building expert, but also not a good realtor if you ask me! People are sitting without housing for a long time, are frustrated, and have questions. If you don't have answers to that, fine, but even then you can say it nicely and not so hatefully condescending.

We absolutely do not recognize our experience in some (negative) reviews. Team Landgraaf was super helpful, transparent and quick with follow-up steps. Even when understaffed, they worked late into the evening to help everyone and questions were also answered during leave. Purchasing a first home went top.

Unreliable. The funda reviews have been edited and are not representative. “Sold is not sold” with this real estate agent. As you read in more reviews, they slow down the sales process, leave the property online for an extra long time (after the seller has agreed) and play buyers against each other in the bidding process to cancel without pardon when they get even a -slightly- better deal. Under the guise of “that is legally permissible,” they exploit lost innocence. The Move.nl platform is also a joke since bids are edited by Damen on the backend (or not displayed). Bidding process is therefore also not transparent afterwards. Yes, the housing market is overheated and yes, there is more demand than supply. But that's not how you treat people.

We had a very pleasant conversation with Ms. Roos Schrijvers regarding a possible purchase of a property as an investment object. She informed us well and honestly about the value and possibilities associated with it. We can really recommend Roos as a real estate agent/advisor.

What a bunch of talkers. Awful office. Especially one Kenny thinks he knows what he's doing. At another office, I was professionally helped by a realtor who understands the business. But they let many temporary workers do the work at Damen. I would never do business with them.

It wasn't a good experience! As others have said here.

No reliable party. Do not honor agreements with vague excuses, make unjustified promises and thereby show no awareness of honorable and ethical conduct. For me once and never again.

Roos Schrijver did a fantastic job for us

Kenny realtor (women's) is a top performer, honest and accurate. Landgraaf team very professional looking for a realtor go for this company, much more knowledge than other realtors, in short don't look any further and go for Damen!

Not really charmed with this club. With a GO! they wait more than a week to set things in motion that, due to the rising interest rate, ultimately resulted in a higher interest rate which means that we will pay more than 15000 euros over the entire term for repayment. When increasing the mortgage, no contact is made again and you have to chase after it yourself. Interest is higher again and therefore more expensive again. Information is not shared, so you don't make the right decisions. If we had known this beforehand, we would never have chosen this club. Very unfortunate.

This review is about Permstraat 5 in Heerlen. On November 18th, the real estate agent (Roos Schrijvers) called to say that our offer on Permstraat 5 had been accepted and that the seller wants everything arranged by February. We have sent everything the real estate agent asked for and are waiting for a purchase agreement. At that time, I was contacted three times by phone to arrange the mortgage through Damen, but this was not possible in our situation. Nevertheless, an appointment was scheduled for November 25th because they continued to insist on it. Unfortunately, the appointment could then no longer take place on that day because we were sick and had to be tested for corona (ultimately also tested positive). The employee from the mortgage department said that she would call back on Monday (November 29th) to schedule a new appointment by phone. Subsequently, on Monday, November 29th, we were called by the real estate agent saying that the seller thought it was taking too long and wanted to sell the house to other buyers who had made a lower offer. We found this very strange and asked the real estate agent to contact the buyer because we could have everything arranged by the end of December (much faster, therefore). She promised to follow up on this and let us know something. Now we haven't heard anything and suddenly see online that the property has been sold subject to conditions... I really don't believe that the seller changed his mind in one week and now wants to sell his house quickly without consultation with people who had made the highest bid. If there had been consultation from the real estate agent, this would have been clear. Real dirty practice by this real estate agent!!! Really rude and unfair people... with the excuse that other people need to be out of his house and that we are taking too long to arrange everything, he sells it to others... While we were waiting for the purchase agreement and dealing with the repurchase of our apartment. This was also told to the real estate agent on the 29th.

Our old house sold by Roos, she helped us with everything. Our new house bought through Fred and the mortgage through Dennis. Everything arranged via Damen to full satisfaction, professional and with a lot of experience.

Excellent service and very friendly
