I recently purchased an apartment and Geurts Makelaars was the selling real estate agent. Although the agent himself was friendly, helpful, and considerate, I am otherwise very disappointed in the handling and involvement from the office. My emails are generally answered very curtly and insensitively. Scheduling a second viewing was not possible, and when I reported a dangerous defect with an outlet in the apartment, I was completely dismissed. This is actually quite bad, especially when it's your first home and you therefore have little experience. As more reviews here say, Geurts Makelaars is probably very good for the seller, but as a buyer I would avoid this office. It would be great if the agent who helped me started his own company. His customer-focused attitude was exceptionally good and stood out sharply from the way of working of the rest of the office.

The actual interest in the property was ultimately much lower than expected, resulting in a price that was considerably lower than the last 2 transactions.

When you believe that the agreement is different in your experience. 'Prove it, because you can't.' was the reaction on the phone. No, that's right, I can't prove that. I thought I was dealing with a reliable real estate agent. Not so. The position of real estate agent in the current housing market is apparently such that they see themselves as a sun king. - Improper conduct towards potential buyers - No response when you have submitted a bid. - They make people feel like they are bidding against each other. - As a potential buyer, you have to take action everywhere yourself, not even confirmation when you have submitted your bid. In short: don't do it people, find another real estate agent!

Geurts Makelaars, well what can you say about them. I can imagine that as a house seller you would be happy with them. However, as a potential buyer, Geurts is a DRAMA to work with. - Uninterested, arrogant brokers giving tours. - Absolutely no response when you make an offer, no confirmation of receipt or a thank you... no 0.0 reaction, completely disrespectful as if you're buying a package of butter. (Our bid was 10% above the asking price so a serious bid) (I hear these experiences from various corners but have also experienced them myself). - Ultimately letting bidders compete against each other on the last day and thus driving up the price. (Acting in conflict with the guidelines of the NVM). In short, as a house buyer I would leave the houses they have for sale alone. Which is ultimately what we did and bought a house through a fantastic broker who politely thanks you for the bid and keeps you informed of the status. As far as I'm concerned, therefore, a big no-go towards Geurts Makelaars.

Very unprofessional and terribly arrogant Real Estate Agency! They have a lot of trouble responding to emails, you almost have to beg them to let them call you back if they’ve promised to do so. They abuse the interest of potential buyers to keep a backup option instead of being honest that they've entered into an agreement with another client. Should there be a house for sale through this realtor in the future, we are not planning on making this mistake again.

Made an offer on a house, not allowed to receive any response. Ultimately, we called ourselves and then we only heard about a new final proposal for the property. A new final proposal submitted, nothing heard well after the deadline, and again contacted them ourselves. We were told via a colleague that we had not become the buyers of the property. Had to contact them ourselves twice, no contact whatsoever from Geurts Makelaars.

They are acting scandalously, making an offer on a property after a viewing. The client then wanted a final bid. When a final bid was made, they didn't hear anything from them for a long time and when you don't get a call back, you then hear that they want more. They also sold the house of my old neighbors, an apartment, 100% identical to my old apartment, sold quickly, only my old neighbors had e.g. central heating and I didn’t. But they sold it for 10k less than all the apartments in the building that were sold during that period, including mine without central heating and an old kitchen. Very poor work done, and the old neighbors therefore lost money. They want to sell quickly and cash out.

Work carelessly and fail to keep appointments. A pity

My partner and I were excited about a house that was for sale here and registered ourselves for a viewing as soon as it appeared on funda. The appointment was scheduled for Thursday at 2:00 PM, my partner requested time off, I took time off earlier, the children to daycare, we are called 4 hours in advance that the house has already been sold on Saturday. The current market makes real estate agents easy and precisely in this market, the top distinguishes itself from the bottom. Service does not only consist of the services you provide to the party offering or the party buying but also out of services that should be provided to the parties who have to be disappointed. Do that at once and don't make people have to throw their entire schedule into disarray, just because of laziness. Appointments must either be kept or switched promptly when the situation requires it. It is only because the seller took my criticism to heart otherwise my rating would have been 1 star.
