There was no proper guidance throughout the process which is unique in The Netherlands. I had to figure out many things myself, while there was a pressure on time. Had a bad experience here, partly certainly due to my own fault. A defect something in a purchased house that would be resolved, repeatedly discussed verbally that it would be resolved by the old resident. During the last check, the selling broker was late and wasn't present when it was said that this would be resolved. Subsequently, during the signing itself, I said that it was fine as is (assuming just this one thing), my mistake. So because it’s not in black and white, it won't be resolved. During the sales negotiation, something from the list of items was to be left behind, this wasn't noted either and was only a verbal agreement and ultimately absent. There were also other problems with the seller where email contact took place via the broker, who didn’t always respond and possibly didn’t forward it to the seller. That damages trust a bit. The reaction was 'take a buying broker next time'. You can say that this doesn't fall under the responsibility of the broker, but I would prefer to work with a selling broker who thinks for both parties and takes the time next time. I still find that appropriate these days. It felt now a little like a fast train through the hustle and bustle of the market probably, the broker didn’t know our situation and that carried the risk that unfortunately turned out badly, because we didn't emphasize everything. So not for novice sellers, or take a buying broker. But you would hope that all of this wouldn't be necessary, well it is. Positive: broker remained polite, we have a house and the wine as a gift was good.
