Disappointing communication from Amsterdam House Hunting We rented a property where Amsterdam House Hunting was involved as an intermediary on behalf of the landlord. Upon check-out, €1,500 was withheld from our deposit due to alleged damage. In our opinion, this largely concerned normal wear and tear, for which a tenant is not legally liable. A representative of the real estate agent was present at both the pre-checkout and the checkout and also sent the email himself regarding the withholding. Nevertheless, the agency later withdrew with the statement that they were “not a party,” which caused confusion. When we expressed our concerns about this, we received an extremely unprofessional response from employee Jaap. His tone was passive-aggressive and downright insulting. He literally wrote: 'We do not encounter very often people who leave a house not in a good state who still find the courage to judge the way things have been handled...' The tone and approach were unnecessarily hostile and inappropriate for a professional real estate agent. This experience has caused us a lot of stress and frustration. We therefore cannot recommend Amsterdam House Hunting. Elise & Bram
