Mijn borg is nog steeds niet terugbetaald, ondanks meerdere pogingen om te bellen en te e-mailen. Het zijn absolute oplichters. En er is geen enkele professionele communicatie over de status van mijn borg. Het is jammer dat makelaarskantoren in een ontwikkeld land als Nederland zo makkelijk wegkomen met de inelastische vraag en het tekort aan aanbod op de studentenwoningmarkt. Eerlijk gezegd, als je een plek nodig hebt om te wonen, vinden ze wel iets voor je en vragen ze waarschijnlijk een hoge prijs. Maar uiteindelijk zit je in Nederland waarschijnlijk tussen twee vuren – het is een lastige situatie. Maar dit bedrijf… ik kan zonder twijfel zeggen, en ik waarschuw iedereen: de manier waarop Oude Delft Makerlaardij met hun huurders omgaat, is volstrekt onacceptabel en respectloos.

Toen Oude Delft eindelijk weer open was, belden ze boos op en zeiden dat de communicatie via het makelaarskantoor moest verlopen. "Als u maar iets had laten weten, had ik actie kunnen ondernemen." Deze opmerking werd niet gewaardeerd en ik kreeg nog meer boze reacties. Bovendien bevatte hun contract een illegale administratiekosten van € 150,-. Natuurlijk weigerde ik te tekenen totdat ze die clausule zouden verwijderen, wat ze niet deden. Uiteindelijk heb ik daar tot het einde van de "overeenkomst" gewoond zonder ooit iets te tekenen. Ze belden zelfs mijn vriend op en vroegen hem "wie denkt ze wel dat ze is?", zonder te weten dat hij mijn vriend was, en probeerden hem ervan te weerhouden bij mij te komen wonen. Ik betaalde al twee weken huur toen de verhuurder me zijn ondertekende inschrijfformulier van de gemeente stuurde. Hij had het direct na mijn verzoek ondertekend, maar Oude Delft weigerde me daarover te informeren. De verwarming werkte nooit goed. Wij waren de eerste huurders in het gebouw en hadden Oude Delft in oktober meerdere keren per post en telefoon op de hoogte gesteld van dit probleem, maar er werd niets aan gedaan, terwijl de rekening bleef binnenkomen. In maart van het volgende jaar vertelde ik hen dat ik de kosten van de maand zou verrekenen vanwege hun nalatigheid en kreeg te horen dat dreigementen niet op prijs werden gesteld, maar uiteindelijk werd er blijkbaar een bezoek van het verwarmingsbedrijf geregeld, zonder verdere kennisgeving van Oude Delft. Het probleem is nooit opgelost. De vriend die ik verving toen ik daar ging wonen, heeft zijn borg nooit teruggekregen omdat ik het contract niet had ondertekend. Hij moest een heel jaar wachten op de teruggave van een volledige maand huur, iets waar we herhaaldelijk achteraan moesten bellen zonder enige reactie. Al met al een vreselijke ervaring met veel onnodige stress.

Dus schiet niet op de boodschapper. Houd er rekening mee dat u aansprakelijk kunt worden gesteld voor het verspreiden van onwaarheden en dat u verantwoordelijk kunt worden gehouden voor de schade die een bedrijf hierdoor lijdt.
