Especially in this time of housing shortage, when selling a house goes very easily and many selling agents don't really make an effort to sell the property - which we unfortunately experienced -, Carolien Koster pleasantly surprised us with her personal approach. She truly takes the time. She is also honest and doesn’t play games. That was the reason for us, in addition to the fact that we obviously found the house beautiful, to remain interested in the house she offered and to lose interest in other houses, where the selling agents couldn't even look at us properly and/or greet us and/or were clearly playing games with us. This led to us deciding that, after the purchase of the new home was arranged, we would turn to Carolien to take care of the sale of our old house. That way, based on our own experience, we are certain that everything will be done to actually sell the property. P.S. I read below in the review that there would be discrimination at Damdrecht. Last week, our apartment was successfully rented through Damdrecht's mediation. The service feels like complete worry-free management.

We unfortunately have not had a good experience with this real estate agent. Last Friday, we made contact regarding the viewing of a property. This was just put on the market. I was told that I would be called back to schedule a viewing; they didn't yet know which day the viewings would take place because it hadn't been discussed with the sellers yet. Yesterday afternoon, I called again because I had not received a callback. This time, I was told that there were many interested parties, and I pointed out that I had already called on Friday to schedule a viewing, and that it wasn't possible then. Again, no appointment was scheduled, and I would be called back. The real estate agent called me last night at 7:00 PM asking if I wanted the property for myself. I explained that we were likely going to rent the property to my brother-in-law because he cannot buy himself. I received the following response: ''then I have to disappoint you, because the buyer does not want to sell his home to an investor.'' I find this very peculiar (and I'm putting it mildly). Firstly: why wasn’t this mentioned on Friday if the seller really has this as a hard requirement? You don't promise to call back to make an appointment; instead, you first ask if I am an investor. In addition, I find this completely unbelievable. The normal procedure is that you submit your bid and these kinds of things are taken into account in the consideration and the goodwill factor. But I didn’t even get the chance to see the house, let alone make a bid. There are 2 options as to what's going on here. Either these real estate agents forgot to call us and because so many viewings have been scheduled we are being brushed off this way. Or does our origin have something to do with it? The latter would be very bad but unfortunately, I can’t draw any other conclusion. We’ve been in the housing market for a long time and we've never experienced anything like this.
