I had a nice move, but I started to worry when problems that I had to solve before the move were not resolved. I had two big problems that actually constituted a violation of Dutch tenant rights and were never resolved, namely a huge leak in the window that led to water damage and mold. I reported it repeatedly and received no support whatsoever. Now, after my move, Brinkborgh is wrongfully claiming that I did not clean and tidy up the apartment and uses this false statement to unlawfully withhold my deposit. I have photos and videos of evidence, as well as a testimonial from the cleaning company and moving company that I hired to handle my move. I requested a detailed list of what was not properly cleaned or tidied up, but they ignored me. Unfortunately, I had to hire a lawyer to write a cease and desist letter and will take legal action. It's just very disappointing having to go through all this extra work and costs, because they have no moral character and are trying to illegally and fraudulently withhold money. I've also shared my story in a number of expat groups, and unfortunately, I'm not the only one. This company works with a large landlord known for being predatory. When I reported this to the municipality, they already knew exactly which company I meant and said it's an ongoing issue. Please learn from my experience and do not trust these people.
