12 Jul 2025I got to know Joek as the sales broker of the house where I now live. He wasn't 'hired' by me, so to speak, but if I ever sell my house again, that’s what I would do. Joek connects with people; he is genuinely interested in how they are doing, and when he looks at a property, he sees the person who lives there. Also, Joek has an eye for how to get houses photographed well, which beautiful glimpses make the house worth it. So trust him if he wants to shuffle things around! His individuality is something you either like or not (I do). Don't expect a typical broker in a suit, but a man who lovingly and creatively puts a property on the market and goes to great lengths to make the sale a pleasure for both parties.

During this conversation, I was surprised by the enthusiasm of the broker and the time he took to answer my questions and provide advice. Especially remarkable that this conversation took place on Friday evening, well after 18:00. His role as a sales broker changed into a purchasing broker upon acquaintance. This resulted, to our amazement and to our delight, fairly quickly in a purchase and a lovely apartment, it's A'dam Good Story. Sinda last week we received the keys to a delightful maisonette where Joek shared our joy with us. It was great working and communicating with this man. Thanks again for that! 14 May 2025Our experience with Vuurtoren Makelaars has been frankly disappointing and has led to financial damage. When selling our 1910 house, the real estate agent failed to advise us on including an age clause: something that is standard and essential for a property of this age. Due to this omission, we were held liable by the buyers after the sale for defects that are characteristic of a house of this age (such as a sagging floor and rotten beams). We ultimately had to compensate for the damage ourselves (over €8,000,-), despite having discussed this with both the liability insurer and the real estate agent themselves. Remarkably, during a telephone conversation, the real estate agent himself acknowledged that he was responsible and explicitly stated that he was willing to pay compensation. However, this commitment never materialized, despite repeated requests. To date, no solution has been offered. Neither the real estate agent nor the insurer has taken responsibility, while we have done everything to prevent further damage and legal proceedings. We advise everyone to be very cautious with Vuurtoren Makelaars and to get absolutely everything in writing. Our experience shows that verbal commitments are worthless, and that essential duty of care is not a given with this real estate agent.

The buyer viewed the property during the NVM open house day and was received by a nice young man, who we had asked to arrange things. From the outside, she is relaxed, easygoing and gives everyone, seller and buyer, a good feeling right away. Inside, she is super driven, sharp, can easily distinguish between main points and details, goes directly for the goal, keeps everything under control and manages well but always in a pleasant way. Within a month, I had a good offer while comparable properties were on the market for 4 / 5 months. It was otherwise not an easy process due to financing problems of the buyer, but Vanessa repeatedly solved the bottlenecks, protected my interests very well, and thanks to her tireless commitment, the sale went smoothly for everyone. She is actually a 6-star real estate agent, it's a shame I can only give 5!

Date unknownNienaber Weesp was my selling agent in the person of Arjan Herngreen. The property seemed to have been put on the market hastily without proper investigation. This created an unprofessional impression and caused a lot of discussion and frustration leading up to the delivery. For example, the number of m2 did not match, but was randomly taken from a previous sale, naturally to the disadvantage of the buyer, they were unaware of an old moisture problem, and it was not noticed that the central heating system was incomplete. The fact that every email from Arjan contained a shockingly high number of language and grammar errors also didn't help maintain trust. In short, a very disappointing experience.

Date unknownUnreliable realtor. Doesn't keep appointments and 1 star is actually too much. Unfortunately, I cannot respond to the reaction of the owner below and wanted to leave it at the bad review, but the response below asks for some clarification, so here’s what happened: - Tel Krop sold a house via bidding - We had the winning bid - Written confirmation from Monique Krop. List of movable assets shared. Notary confirmed. - The notary prepared the documents for the transfer - The party that had offered less in the bidding process still wanted to offer more, while we already had confirmation of the purchase and the documents were with the notary. We were offered a compensation if we would withdraw, because we were formally the buyers. - Ultimately went with the other buyer anyway, without compensating us. Not only ethically very questionable, but also illegal. I think it speaks for itself that you should stay as far away from Monique Krop as possible.

In the sales process, there is unfortunately always only 1 party that can be the buyer and people will always be disappointed. We act on behalf of our clients (in this case the sellers) and always strive for the maximum result. If that means we have to disappoint other parties like yourselves as buyers, then that is regrettable.

15 Jul 20220 stars, 1 star would be generous. Moved to a recently renovated apartment on the Eerste van der Helststraat in Amsterdam. No internet. In the 21st century. Had to contact them to get the builder back to dig out the walls to find and connect the cable. Great start. Next; leak in the toilet ceiling. Every time someone showered upstairs. Had to contact them for repair. When I dared to ask a builder to take a look myself, I was put in my place and told that they had to decide whether they would incur damage or if I would do it myself. Yes, I flooded my own ceiling?! It's clear I decided I did, because 1.5 years later it still hasn’t been repaired. Nice shower room…impractically designed. No shower door, so water goes everywhere. The door wasn’t painted with the right paint, peeling off, swollen and the wood is rotting. Contacted them. An ‘assessor’ came out. Then nothing. What's next? Oh yes, the apartment upstairs is being renovated. After a particularly heavy rainstorm you wake up at 05:00 am with brown water steaming along the bedroom walls. Mad dash to save the furniture. I informed the bureau, but had to contact the builders myself to carry out the repair upstairs to prevent my apartment from being further destroyed. Bedroom unusable for 3 days while I dried it out, having to sleep on the couch. Sent several emails with photos and video, no response. Ceilings and walls are brown in color and are frankly disgusting. Heard a strange noise in the kitchen next week. Another leak from the ceiling. Enough water to fill a bucket. Managed to grab the builder and he repaired it. But not before my kitchen wall got a lovely moisture level. Sent another email with photos and videos, absolutely no response. Let's not forget that the builders don’t lay dust sheets or protect the area. The entire staircase was filled with cement dust and the navy blue carpet turned white. You can’t walk down the stairs without getting stains on your clothes. Emailed about this and then received a reply…that it would be cleaned when the work was finished. So in 4 months. Do you want us to live in this asthma-hazard for four months?! Another agent picked up the same message and sent a cleaning round (which only vacuumed the carpet, the staircase walls are still sticky and filthy). How could I forget the poor ventilation. Every time someone cooks downstairs, smokes or even farts, my apartment smells like it. Seriously, my friend has asthma, so the cigarette smell really affects him, it's stifling. Told them about this. They did…absolutely nothing. Well, Mr. Assessor came again, which led to more nothing. Had a realtor when renting this place, she also tried to contact them and was ignored. Had reviews that she wrote and left on Facebook and Google removed, which they will probably try to do with these as well. Oh, and don’t bother calling, they never answer and then don't call back. At this point I think they are screening calls. Although they knowingly ignored me, they managed to inform me via email of a rent increase during the last two leaks. So someone works there! Why don’t they respond? I can only speculate that it is because they may be obliged to inform the owner of the building about such problems and the costs they incur, so it's better to ignore this and feign the happiness of the tenant?! I suspect they will try to postpone the repair and do it at the same time and fit and paint the upper floor so that the costs can be masked and included in the renovation costs. Just my suspicion. How would you describe this? Mismanagement seems like an understatement. I’m living with rotting walls and mold enough to cry out loud! And the rent isn't cheap, let's call it premium prices. They clearly don’t care about the properties they manage or the conditions for the people who live in them. Amsterdam is a fast market, they can re-rent within a few hours. It's clear that they only care about their money. Whatever this level of unprofessionalism is called, it’s completely disgusting and I would like to ask everyone to seriously consider allowing these clowns to rent out or lease their properties.
