For the appraisal of our detached, single-level bungalow, we were excellently helped. Everything went correctly, professionally and carefully, and made appointments were kept punctually. Early January 2024, Mr. Jacobs assessed our building which is listed on the municipal monument list. In the municipality of Maasgouw there are 118 municipal monuments, and our building is one of them. Mr. Jacobs did not include a municipal monument as a reference property in his assessment. This is evident from the outcome of his assessment, which is lower than that prepared previously in 2011. Furthermore, there were inaccuracies in the appraisal report. For example, it states that there has been no deterioration, while he himself took a photo of it. Since 2011, the average increase in homes has been 34%. Therefore, I requested the NVM to arrange for a recognized appraiser who is capable of properly assessing monuments. In the response from the NVM, Sjoerd Jacobs was not listed! Therefore, in that same year, I requested a reassessment by an appointed assessor who, according to the NVM, has experience in assessing municipal monuments. In September 2024, an appraiser recognized by the NVM assessed our building €150,000 higher than that of Mr. Jacobs. As a result, the tariff class with the bank decreased by more than 25%. I cannot imagine that such a large deviation would be qualified as correct by the NVM.
