That estimate was needed to include in the financing, so that everything could be neatly arranged within the mortgage. That request was initially rejected, with the argument that we were not allowed to be present ourselves. Only after repeated insistence was this allowed, but the visit itself went anything but pleasant: we were literally accompanied and monitored as if there was not a single trust in us. That was a strange and unpleasant experience, especially considering the fact that we had offered seriously and well above the asking price. Also during the final inspection, it did not go as expected. Afterwards, it turned out that behind a painting there was a big hole in the wall, something that was only mentioned after signing the inspection report and just before the notarial transfer. When we raised this issue, no responsibility was taken from the real estate agent. In fact, it was even suggested that perhaps it would have been better not to mention it at all. I found that really incomprehensible and unprofessional. As a result, the entire purchase process felt unnecessarily complicated and stressful. Instead of a real estate agent who empathizes, advises and relieves you, we felt that we had to continuously defend why we wanted to know or arrange something. All in all, I experienced the process as very frustrating. The communication was lacking, the attitude often unfriendly, and there was hardly any consideration for the buyer's interests. I would therefore not recommend Van Oosten Makelaardij. Organize everything nicely yourself and make sure that when purchasing a property through them, you concretely clarify and check everything. Also, it had been agreed that before the real estate agent's vacation, the file would be ready so that it could be put online with one click if we had acquired a property ourselves. This promise was not kept, leaving their colleagues with an incomplete file. Because it was very busy, and they only have two real estate agents, and the assistant real estate agent had an extremely busy schedule, it was stated that there was no rush and the property could also be put online a week later. For me, however, this meant having to bridge the time or not and incurring many extra costs and having to go for a more complicated mortgage form. Therefore, they totally failed to consider the client's interests. When I raised this in the evaluation meeting, it was laughed off with 'it all turned out well in the end'. I could still mention 100 details about things that went wrong, but I'll spare everyone the trouble. All in all, it was an extremely arduous process (or actually two processes) and a headache file.
