With the help of Robert and Niels we have acquired two apartments in Leiden. That is not nothing given the current housing market. We are very grateful to Xpat Xperts!
This review comes after many years, but is very similar to other reviews. I was asked for 'administrative costs', which I later discovered are no longer legally allowed in the Netherlands. And I never got my full deposit back from the landlord, who was actually covered by the real estate agency without ever responding to my questions. They knew I would be leaving the country, so I was, like many others (see reviews), the perfect victim. Not really helpful for expats, more the opposite. You could say they are experts in scaming expats :)
Correct communication via their website as well as by phone, with punctual appointments, both at the start of the rental and upon termination of the lease agreement and handover. However, Xpat Xpert defends ONLY the interests of the landlord (landlord). Despite a perfectly cleaned apartment upon handover, confirmed by photos and a signed handover statement (signed by an employee of Xpat Xpert), part of the deposit was withheld. Xpat Xpert has not heard anything more about this matter. Complete radio silence despite repeated requests for clarification as to the reason for this, as well as their support for the tenant, given the signed handover statement. Still a disappointing end to the rental agreement!
It was the rental company that found a home for me in Leiden. I can really recommend them, they were very friendly!
Some time ago I was invited for a viewing. For this, I traveled to Leiden, sent all my documentation, and was greeted kindly. Unfortunately, after that, I never heard anything more. I repeatedly tried to make contact, both by email and telephone, but I was never answered. I find this a very unsocial situation; I invest effort, time and money in the procedure only to hear nothing!
Great service, friendly and no extra costs. Even help with installing utilities and internet.

Xpat has been renting out my apartment for years. Despite the turnover of tenants not being so frequent, I am very satisfied with the service.
Everything went smoothly, except when checking out of the apartment. The real estate office that acted as an intermediary could not provide an explanation as to why I did not get my full deposit back. To prevent this problem, make sure that you have a signed agreement during the final inspection of the apartment as to what needs to be repaired/cleaned before the keys are handed over.
I feel very reassured, because if I have a problem in the house I rent, I can call the team and they help me directly or give advice on what I should do. That is very important as an expat.
