Tienus Evenhuis has guided us as a real estate agent perfectly. Originally, we are not from this (beautiful) region, which has some specific characteristics in terms of the housing market. There is a lot of self-built homes of varying quality. Real estate agents/homeowners do not always play open cards. When we showed interest in a home in Aalden, we encountered exactly this situation. We decided to involve Tienus and have no regrets about that decision. In a complicated purchase process, Tienus remained calm and wise. Thanks to him, we reached an agreement on a lower purchase price than we could have managed ourselves. Tienus supported us in a pleasant and professional manner, also in the process after the purchase.

First I could get answers everywhere. He came himself to my home to explain everything. Very satisfied. Further no problem.

Our experience with Tienus Evenhuis of Makelaardij Emmen was very disappointing. During the sales process, certain things were concealed (for example: there were garbage bags in the crawl space with dry yellow sand on top, so it looks as if the crawl space is dry, which was not the case) which gave us little confidence in the honesty towards the buyers. My father came along to view the purchased property and has been a carpenter; he included this in the purchase agreement to protect himself and the sellers should any defects come to light. The roof of the property stated on funda that it was a tiled roof, and if the broker asks about it, you get no answer. This is probably because it's a slate roof laid around 1990 and may contain asbestos. Communication was also deficient: we had to remind him ourselves whether a final inspection would take place. The sellers (80+) are completely in the dark and were very poorly informed about this fact by the broker. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Makelaardij Emmen. I believe that this broker damages the NVM title; we have quite some experience with brokers, but have never experienced anything like this. Unfortunately, I cannot place this review on funda because you need to receive an invitation from the broker for that, so take the rating on funda with a grain of salt.

The second time we have bought a home with Makelaardij Emmen and would recommend it to everyone. Pleasant, accessible communication which suited us very well, giving us great confidence in them. Tienus and Arina, thank you so much!

After so many years guiding us in our search for a home in the Hondsrug area (taking into account all of our 'impossible' wishes), it is finally time. These people still have ears, which they use well

Appearances can be deceiving. After initially reaching a mutually accepted bid through the 'normal' process of drawing lots/bidding, the purchase of a house in Meppen was cancelled at the end of January 2019 by the selling party via this real estate agent. No reason given. Cancelled on Saturday afternoon at 5:45 p.m. after approximately 10 days of verbal agreement had been reached. Appointments were made for Monday and Tuesday with a technical inspector and appraiser. Final damage amount >Eur. 1000,-. And all this with the knowledge of this real estate agent who did not hear back regarding compensation for inspection/appraisal costs. Legally, no recourse is possible. Standards of decency trampled upon. A stain on the profession of a real estate agent. A real estate agent who has told the better-bidding buyer that he has resolved 'tricky cases' with potential buyers in a very friendly, expert manner. NOT SO. A real estate agent with a double agenda. Reviews on Funda are only reserved for 'invitees', which is why this review was posted through this channel. Reviews on Funda should therefore be taken with a grain of salt.
