We thought we'd made a good choice with Marcel. And he will likely be a good choice when it comes to quick, uncomplicated transactions. However, when things get difficult, this broker is, in our opinion, less suitable and becomes downright unprofessional in his approach. Two weeks before the transfer, we went on vacation and that same evening we received a video from this broker showing water gushing out of the house under high pressure. Marcel didn't deem it necessary to check on things or shut off the water, because he had already taken his lenses out (see WhatsApp message) (or after contact with his lawyer, read below, turned out to have a serious hypo due to diabetes). Of course, the man wasn’t obliged to do this and had every right to stay in bed and endure his severe hypo, and according to him, it wasn't even clear whether it was coming from the house at all (despite the clear blue sky not being certain that it would rain very hard, according to the broker). Fortunately, the police dragged him out of bed after midnight after the police and several neighbors had called the broker to express their concerns. If Marcel had helped us, considering he was the only one with a key, which he could have done as a customer service (but is not obliged to), then the water damage (which ultimately turned out to be a leaking pipe in the attic, as expected) would have been minimal. Now it sprayed unnecessarily for hours, resulting in water damage on 3 floors! We offered the buyers a significant discount due to the water damage, which was accepted, but the broker insisted on the old selling price because of the amount of his commission. We had WhatsApp contact with him about this, in which he responded rudely and unprofessionally. As if we were toddlers. NVM advised a legal process and disciplinary committee because it would not be in accordance with NVM values. We chose to look away from that in order to be done with it. We wish Marcel much success and pleasure with the extra commission but will refrain from any future collaboration with him. Any comments from this brokerage firm on this message, we can substantiate with screenshots of WhatsApp (from the neighbors and the reporters) and the police report. As a follow-up, the broker had engaged Lexman lawyers to force us to remove the message. In this message, the lawyer was completely misinformed because we have the police report including the messages from the reporters, directly to the broker, and the lawyer tried to force us to remove the message based on incorrect grounds and bullying tactics. In our opinion, everything could have been handled properly if Marcel had acted like a professional to come to a solution together instead of immediately involving a lawyer, and sticking to the commission including treating his clients like toddlers. Now, to prevent any form of slander or defamation, we have adjusted this message. This is based on our opinion, perspective and the facts as we have them on paper. P.S. Also added the email with falsehoods from his “friend” lawyer Berenschot from Lexman lawyers which is complete nonsense, and shows that there is blatant lying going on. See photos of the damage with beautiful reflection of the sun in the water, and the whole week of drought so the gutter could never have been full of water.
