We are house sharers in Haarlem and we'd been having problems for a while to find a rental property. After two weeks through Marja, we immediately found a home that meets all our requirements! The communication was very clear and pleasant throughout the processes and I can only recommend it! Looking back, I regret not starting the search earlier through the real estate agent because that would have saved me a lot of trouble.

We were guided by Coert from Centraal Makelaardij. After three viewings and two bids, we hit the jackpot: we bought our first house. Coert is a no-nonsense, down-to-earth professional who has helped us excellently through the entire process. In addition, he also carries out valuations and has a good eye for the condition and value of the house and can communicate this well. What you see is what you get – clear, honest and to-the-point.

I advise against working with them. I rented an apartment through their agency and although everything went smoothly during the rental period, the experience at the end was disappointing. They refused to carry out an inspection and said that I should contact the landlord directly to hand over the keys. I also did not receive my full deposit back.

I am an expat who moved with my family from the United Kingdom to the Netherlands and I had no idea where to start looking for a house. A colleague referred me to Marja and honestly she was a lifesaver - so knowledgeable, warm-hearted and helpful. It's a tricky market, but Marja helped us with the price, location and how we could 'sell' ourselves to landlords. Ultimately, we found a beautiful house despite the high competition. I am very disappointed. These people are unreliable. My landlord, or perhaps this agency, has deprived me of a lot of money. Firstly, there was no contact number for the landlord available to call or get in touch with. Every time I called Nick or his colleagues, they said that they were not responsible while I signed the contract with them. I bought a new house and had to leave my apartment earlier. I informed them three months in advance. They told me that the landlord would fine me 500,000 because I left earlier. This is against Dutch rules. Don't trust them then.

Professional and reliable real estate agents. Even though my rental offer was rejected by the landlord, both Nick and Nathalie were very kind and advised in a professional manner. My deposit was refunded on time.

Responsible and reliable I had a viewing with Centraal Makelaardij in June, for which I transferred hundreds of euros as a deposit. Unfortunately, I was not chosen by the landlord. The broker said they had transferred the deposit back to me, but I have received nothing. At first, I thought they were committing fraud, but then it turned out that the problem was with my bank. The broker had made the transfer, but the money remained somewhere in between. Rene, the broker from Centraal Makelaardij, has already communicated many times with his bank and me. He went with me to the ING bank in Haarlem to investigate where the money had gone. As I am an expat and just graduated, he even suggested lending me hundreds of euros if I had financial problems. Ultimately, I got my money back after two months of arguing with the bank. There are too many shenanigans, but precisely because of that, it has been proven that Centraal Makelaardij is a very responsible and reliable real estate agency. 👍👍
