I own a large number of homes in Amsterdam South and Amstelveen. About 32 years ago, Amsterdam Housing took care of it so that I have good tenants. First of all, they place my home on Funda. They also report my house to their fixed contacts. Companies in the Amsterdam region that have foreign employees. Then they visit my home with interested parties. These interested parties are extensively screened by Amsterdam Housing. If we agree on the tenant, they draw up the rental agreement. Then comes the check-in. On that occasion, a report is made with a photo report. Exactly those photos are important. Afterwards, no one can say “that was already like that”. The key is given to the tenant after payment of the deposit and 1 month rent. Amsterdam Housing charges the tenant nothing. Many intermediaries do ask the tenant for a commission. But that is not allowed and should not be. If the tenant leaves, Amsterdam Housing takes care of the check-out. An end report is made. Amsterdam Housing charges 1 month's rent for all their work. I find this not at all a lot. I know how much work it is. In the more than 32 years that I have been working with them, I have had no problems at all. On the contrary. I always had excellent tenants. Of course, something does break sometimes. But I know many cases where a house was completely emptied in a short time or that a tenant turned out to be a criminal.
