I had to think about this for a long time but still wanted to share it. I had a viewing for a house in Kattenbroek a few months ago, which was a pleasant experience in itself. It was just a bidding sale that, as far as I know, would close on Friday or Monday around 12 o'clock. My purchasing broker then submitted our bid a few minutes before the deadline. Then we were called that evening with the story that the property had actually been promised to someone else by the sellers but that I still had the highest bid. Then came the question of whether my offer was also without a financing condition. I indicated that it was. Eventually, however, the house went to the party to whom it had initially been promised by the seller. My suspicion, and why this feels bitter to me, is that my bid was passed on to the initial party and they got another chance to match it so that the sellers could get an even better deal and also keep their promises. Otherwise, I can't explain such a phone call. Furthermore, the highest bid is simply the highest bid when it works with registration. If the latter is not correct and there is a completely different explanation, I would like to hear it here, but I don’t think I can close this properly because it has been a very disappointing experience...

Van Doorn Makelaardij is super professional in the guidance when buying a home. Clear in communication and have a lot of knowledge.

Sebastian was the salesperson of our recently purchased house. He was poorly prepared for the viewing (didn't even know how to tell when sellers wanted to transfer ownership, for example) and communication throughout the further purchase process also left much to be desired. The garden turned out to be 2 meters shorter after purchase than indicated in the sales text (an excuse didn't wash) and he was sloppy and uninterested during the inspection on the day of the transfer, pulling some things straight from his sleeve. To the question why there was a loose designer radiator of the type from the bathroom in the shed, the answer was that the residents found the bathroom warm enough and therefore removed the radiator. When we pointed out to him that an identical radiator still hangs in the bathroom (and his 'explanation' is therefore incorrect), he went to inquire and it turned out that the actual explanation was that the radiator in the bathroom had damage and the example in the shed was a replacement. Finally, he didn't photograph the gas meter reading for the inspection report, but the gas meter number. Embarrassing that as a real estate agent you can’t even read a gas meter. Absolutely not a pleasant experience for me as a buyer and given his incompetence and negligence, I would not recommend him to anyone as a selling agent.
