In preparation for the sale of our house, we asked several real estate agents in the region, including Mr. Robbie van der Giesen, to come by for an appraisal of our home. Mr. van der Giesen came in the morning, was friendly and open. During the conversation, we indicated that it would be nice if the house could be sold as soon as possible so that a short bridging period would be necessary. Mr. van der Giesen said he would return later that day with an appraisal. Later in the day, he did indeed come by at the agreed time. Notably during this visit was that Mr. van der Giesen no longer seemed as open as earlier that day. For example, he no longer made eye contact and kept looking away. It seemed as if he didn't dare to look us in the eyes. Independently of each other, we both had the same experience. He had put down an appraisal on paper that was so low that he didn’t even dare to say the amount out loud. He turned the paper around and circled the amount for which he wanted to put our house on the market. He was €55,000 below the amounts for which his regional colleagues wanted to put our house on the market. When we made this clear to him, he said that we would never get it for that price. Of course, we did not enter into an agreement with this real estate agent. This realtor knew that we were somewhat in a hurry and may have thought he could make quick money by putting our house on the market low so that it would sell quickly and he would quickly collect his commission. Disappointing experience purchasing a home through Klaver Makelaardij (Schoorl). We purchased a house where Klaver Makelaardij acted as the selling agent. During the purchase process, several crucial issues were not, incorrectly or too late reported, despite explicit questions from our side. For example, after the handover, among other things, there were ambiguities regarding the property boundary, previous roof leaks and various technical defects that were not mentioned during viewings and the final inspection. The final inspection took place without the presence of the seller; only the agent was present on their behalf. Afterwards, it turned out that information provided by the agent before the purchase did not match or was contradicted by the seller and their lawyer. This has led to discussions and considerable repair costs. We have experienced this process as careless and not transparent, and based on our experience, we cannot recommend Klaver Makelaardij as an agent.

You wonder why then don't you put the house on Funda for a higher price. (The house has been on Funda for 3 months already. I am called back to see if I still have interest, and I bid slightly above the asking price, but then you get an online counteroffer that is far above the asking price) I have had a very bad experience here, a very unclear practice, and especially a very unfair practice.

When I restarted the process, I was told that the ad could go live on Saturday, but later I heard that this wasn't possible. Very bad service, avoid if possible. I had a very disappointing experience with Makelaarsland's purchase service. Despite having paid €600 for a package of five home inspections, the support was extremely poor and felt rushed, as if their main goal was to push me into a purchase quickly so they wouldn’t have to do extra work. They consistently avoided in-depth document checks, probably because it would take more time. In one case, I asked them for advice on a property and they estimated it at €250,000. That same house was eventually sold for €280,000 – a huge difference that shows how inaccurate and unhelpful their input was. Worse still, they advised me to consider a second property without mentioning that the correct legal documentation was not yet available. No responsible broker would advise a buyer to proceed under those circumstances. When I expressed my concerns about their service, they simply replied that they were not present at the viewings – and that’s exactly the problem. They take no responsibility and offer no meaningful guidance. It felt like I paid for a service that was never really delivered. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Makelaarsland. If you are looking for real support and professional advice during your home buying process, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere.
