17 Feb 2025My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Lisette Van Tilburg as our realtor for our recent home purchase. We came to Lisette with a difficult situation: we needed a house as quickly as possible because our lease was expiring in two months and we would have nowhere to go afterwards. Lisette was honest with us that it would be quite a job, especially given the crazy housing market in Amsterdam, but ultimately she more than delivered. Throughout the entire home buying process, she skillfully guided us through viewings, assessing properties, and eventually making an offer and closing. As first-time homebuyers and also expats, we had many questions and Lisette was always happy and willing to answer. We especially appreciated her quick communication. We also felt that she always had our best interests at heart and that she was never pressured to make offers that didn't make sense for us. Ultimately, our initial offer was accepted after a bit of back and forth with the seller and we closed on the perfect starter home for us in just under 7 weeks from our first conversation with Lisette DESPITE a hiccup with our mortgage lender, through which she also navigated as a true professional. For what it's worth: our house was also valued higher than what we paid, so the fact that we had instant equity gave us the feeling that we scored big. We are still in disbelief that she could realize this home purchase so quickly and are so grateful for her expertise which guided us along the way. Highly recommend!

The strange thing is that after two weeks they still needed additional information. It concerned two house numbers, which they had also merged into 1 report. The next day, our realtor was called again to hear that the house had suddenly been sold to someone else. Legally, it might be possible and permissible, but I don't consider it a proper way of doing business. A man is a man, a word is a word.
