27 Mar 2025Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience with the realtor who showed us the house, Coen. We were slightly late for the viewing, but we had called beforehand and were assured that it would not be a problem. The intern we spoke to was polite and helpful, but Coen was rude and unwelcoming. He didn't even walk with us through the house, and we felt uncomfortable asking questions because he seemed rushed and grumpy. All in all, it was an unpleasant experience and left a negative impression of the realtor and even of the house itself. Absolutely terrible.

Unfortunately, afterwards, we consistently felt a lot of time pressure to make big decisions quickly. We had hoped that the real estate agent would guide us better in this regard and stand more on our side. Considering the high commission, the unnecessarily long wait for the ‘sold’ sticker to be placed, and this last-mentioned experience which weighs heavily, not a mega recommendation...

07 Sep 2025My son lived happily in a room through PMA Real Estate for over two years. The accommodation was neat and the communication was slow in some cases, but ultimately issues were resolved. The living experience itself was therefore predominantly positive. However, the handling of the lease termination deserves attention and is important for future tenants – especially students who rent jointly – to be aware of. My son formally and correctly terminated his rental agreement, handed over the property without defects, and returned the keys after a final inspection where no damage or arrears were found. Nevertheless, PMA continues to refuse to refund the paid share of the deposit (€750), citing the reason that the other tenant is still residing in the property. Despite multiple neat and legally substantiated requests, substantive responses remained absent. The fact that I repeatedly dealt with changing contact persons – one time Kees, then Tjeerd – did not contribute to clarity or accountability. The email I received as a last response literally read: “I understand that you would like to direct things according to your own hand and good thinking but the real world works differently.” A very unprofessional tone that does not suit a rental organization and certainly not when it comes to students and parents who want to conclude matters correctly. So pay close attention if you are moving into a property with multiple tenants through PMA: the contract is shared, but the deposit is not held per person. This can cost you dearly upon check-out – even if you have correctly terminated, handed over, and paid your own share. In our case, the deposit payment was divided between two people, but upon departure, this is suddenly no longer taken into account. Hopefully, this feedback will lead to improvement in communication and processing in the future. Meanwhile, three weeks have passed, the other resident has also left the property. But we still haven't received the deposit back. Emails are not being answered. Very regrettable and unprofessional. I have therefore reduced the rating to 1 star.

07 Feb 2023I would absolutely not recommend this company! I am surprised to read in the review that there are professionals... It took several weeks before we could live normally in our apartment again (no hot water, broken terrace door, broken heating...). They didn't respond and initially said it could be our fault. We had to solve many problems ourselves. And now they don't even want to refund our deposit for energy bills we have never heard of, which they can’t even pay and which are not in the contract... Very disappointing and such behavior is clearly unreliable for both parties: the tenant or the owner. (We often rent apartments and this is the worst time!!!!)

Because this was not done for the heating and hot water of the property, the landlord correctly charged you that amount for the period you lived there and provided you with all invoices. All other issues you mentioned which are normal for a home have been resolved promptly, but some minor repairs fall under the responsibility of the tenant, as you are the one using the property. This is also clearly stated in the signed rental agreement. Nevertheless, we thank you for your stay as a tenant and for leaving a review, because we always strive to improve our customer service. He helped her find an apartment that met all her requirements and fit within her budget within a few weeks. I got in touch with him after having viewed apartments for weeks and rejected offers. After two months of searching, I found an apartment that really appealed to me, so I decided to approach Barry and try my luck. Within four days of the collaboration, the offer was accepted. The entire process went smoothly and the real estate agent was present throughout. I can wholeheartedly recommend Barry, because he is transparent, realistic, very knowledgeable and knows almost all real estate agents/notaries in the city, which is very handy during bidding negotiations.

As expected, we ended up in a challenging market, swinging back and forth between making a winning bid and bidding at a reasonable level to justify the mortgage value. Having Barry in our team felt like a huge relief. We forgot about the battle we had to fight by leaving it to a very experienced professional and simply enjoyed the ride. Moreover, they lie about the proportions within the HOA and make it look better than it is. I warned Manuela about this but she didn't care. It is prohibited and unethical. However, she doesn't care about that.

Manuela (real estate manager/not a real estate owner) presents herself as very professional and cooperative, but that is absolutely an illusion. When we moved in, we discovered that several things were broken and needed to be repaired. For some things, it took more than six months to get them fixed, while quite a bit of money had to be paid monthly. She didn't allow me to contact the owner of the property myself to resolve some issues. Fortunately, he is very collegial and reasonable. Something that Manuela clearly isn’t. I would not recommend working with her as a tenant or real estate owner. Her way of communicating is very unpleasant and unreasonable. 2nd review (after rental period) after we left the apartment, it got even worse. Manuela texted me that I should remove this 1-star review. Her argument; my review is incorrect. She even threatened me with legal action if I didn’t remove this review. In my opinion, this portrays Manuela in all respects. In our case, she did not take responsibility for her negligence during our rental period. It was a complete nightmare for me and my family to have her as a property manager.
