Because we were new to the Dutch housing market, he guided us excellently through everything, including handling our offer, arranging technical inspections, and finding a notary. Unfortunately, I cannot respond to the reaction of the owner below and wanted to leave it at the bad review, but the response below asks for some clarification, so here’s what happened: - Tel Krop sold a house via bidding - We had the winning bid - Written confirmation from Monique Krop. List of movable assets shared. Notary confirmed. - The notary prepared the documents for the transfer - The party that had offered less in the bidding process still wanted to offer more, while we already had confirmation of the purchase and the documents were with the notary. We were offered a compensation if we would withdraw, because we were formally the buyers. - Ultimately went with the other buyer anyway, without compensating us. Not only ethically very questionable, but also illegal. I think it speaks for itself that you should stay as far away from Monique Krop as possible.

We act on behalf of our clients (in this case the sellers) and always strive for the maximum result. 15 Jul 20220 stars, 1 star would be generous. Moved to a recently renovated apartment on the Eerste van der Helststraat in Amsterdam. No internet. In the 21st century. Had to contact them to get the builder back to dig out the walls to find and connect the cable. Great start. Next; leak in the toilet ceiling. Every time someone showered upstairs. Had to contact them for repair. When I dared to ask a builder to take a look myself, I was put in my place and told that they had to decide whether they would incur damage or if I would do it myself. Yes, I flooded my own ceiling?! It's clear I decided I did, because 1.5 years later it still hasn’t been repaired. Nice shower room…impractically designed. No shower door, so water goes everywhere. The door wasn’t painted with the right paint, peeling off, swollen and the wood is rotting. Contacted them. An ‘assessor’ came out. Then nothing. What's next? Oh yes, the apartment upstairs is being renovated. After a particularly heavy rainstorm you wake up at 05:00 am with brown water steaming along the bedroom walls. Mad dash to save the furniture. I informed the bureau, but had to contact the builders myself to carry out the repair upstairs to prevent my apartment from being further destroyed. Bedroom unusable for 3 days while I dried it out, having to sleep on the couch. Sent several emails with photos and video, no response. Ceilings and walls are brown in color and are frankly disgusting. Heard a strange noise in the kitchen next week. Another leak from the ceiling. Enough water to fill a bucket. Managed to grab the builder and he repaired it. But not before my kitchen wall got a lovely moisture level. Sent another email with photos and videos, absolutely no response. Let's not forget that the builders don’t lay dust sheets or protect the area. The entire staircase was filled with cement dust and the navy blue carpet turned white. You can’t walk down the stairs without getting stains on your clothes. Emailed about this and then received a reply…that it would be cleaned when the work was finished. So in 4 months. Do you want us to live in this asthma-hazard for four months?! Another agent picked up the same message and sent a cleaning round (which only vacuumed the carpet, the staircase walls are still sticky and filthy). How could I forget the poor ventilation. Every time someone cooks downstairs, smokes or even farts, my apartment smells like it. Seriously, my friend has asthma, so the cigarette smell really affects him, it's stifling. Told them about this. They did…absolutely nothing. Well, Mr. Assessor came again, which led to more nothing. Had a realtor when renting this place, she also tried to contact them and was ignored. Had reviews that she wrote and left on Facebook and Google removed, which they will probably try to do with these as well. Oh, and don’t bother calling, they never answer and then don't call back. At this point I think they are screening calls. Although they knowingly ignored me, they managed to inform me via email of a rent increase during the last two leaks. So someone works there! Why don’t they respond? I can only speculate that it is because they may be obliged to inform the owner of the building about such problems and the costs they incur, so it's better to ignore this and feign the happiness of the tenant?! I suspect they will try to postpone the repair and do it at the same time and fit and paint the upper floor so that the costs can be masked and included in the renovation costs. Just my suspicion. How would you describe this? Mismanagement seems like an understatement. I’m living with rotting walls and mold enough to cry out loud! And the rent isn't cheap, let's call it premium prices. They clearly don’t care about the properties they manage or the conditions for the people who live in them. Amsterdam is a fast market, they can re-rent within a few hours. It's clear that they only care about their money. Whatever this level of unprofessionalism is called, it’s completely disgusting and I would like to ask everyone to seriously consider allowing these clowns to rent out or lease their properties.

He actively listened to my wishes and made sure he screened all apartments before viewing them, which saved us time and energy. He regularly came up with possibilities before I had seen them online. During viewings, he ensured that he focused on all the small but important technical details so that I could focus on my overall opinion of the apartments. He didn't rush and even postponed the process several times due to details I had overlooked. Ultimately, we found the perfect apartment for me in less than two months. And thanks to his market knowledge and negotiation skills, I got a great apartment at a great price without having to pay transfer tax. Finally, Barry checked all the documents to make sure everything was in order, which was enormously important to me since I don't yet speak Dutch. All in all, I am very happy with Barry and I can wholeheartedly recommend him.

Moreover, they lie about the proportions within the HOA and make it look better than it is. I warned Manuela about this but she didn't care. It is prohibited and unethical. However, she doesn't care about that.

01 May 2025We rented an apartment through Prestige Housing. Manuela (real estate manager/not a real estate owner) presents herself as very professional and cooperative, but that is absolutely an illusion. When we moved in, we discovered that several things were broken and needed to be repaired. For some things, it took more than six months to get them fixed, while quite a bit of money had to be paid monthly. She didn't allow me to contact the owner of the property myself to resolve some issues. Fortunately, he is very collegial and reasonable. Something that Manuela clearly isn’t. I would not recommend working with her as a tenant or real estate owner. Her way of communicating is very unpleasant and unreasonable. 2nd review (after rental period) after we left the apartment, it got even worse. Manuela texted me that I should remove this 1-star review. Her argument; my review is incorrect. She even threatened me with legal action if I didn’t remove this review. In my opinion, this portrays Manuela in all respects. In our case, she did not take responsibility for her negligence during our rental period. It was a complete nightmare for me and my family to have her as a property manager.

Date unknownI found the communication with this selling agent quite disappointing. Their language came across as unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. A little friendliness and respect work wonders – especially in real estate, where trust and clear communication are essential. I hope they will reflect on this and consider adjusting their tone in future interactions. EDIT: Good communication is crucial in real estate. Unfortunately, we were not treated professionally by this agent. I initially didn't want to reveal too many details, but now I feel that I must. When we presented the result of our offer, the agent insulted and laughed at us by saying we had the lowest bid, and even if it had been the highest, we wouldn’t win anything from them – he literally laughed at us. When we asked for the reason, he continued to insult us by saying how bad and unreliable we are. Actually, it didn't start there. He also discriminated against us during the viewing. He didn’t take us seriously and only paid attention to others. He even made a homophobic comment, simply because we are a married gay couple. The way we were treated is unacceptable, and instead of apologizing, they chose to lie in their public response. Just to clarify what really happened with the first apartment: we had the highest bid but were not accepted. The agent said that they didn’t trust our financial situation and asked for extra documents. Because we couldn't deliver what they requested on time, we had to withdraw our offer. But now they are trying to make it seem as if we simply changed our minds and are unreliable. We want to be clear: we could have withdrawn our bid without giving a reason before signing the contract. We acted in good faith, and it is enormously disappointing to see the situation twisted like this.

Your offer was accepted by the seller and we had to inform the other interested parties that their bids were not successful. A day later, however, you expressed serious doubts about the property and withdrew your offer. This was of course disappointing for the seller, but it can happen. Two weeks later, you made another bid on a different property in the same street and the same complex. The broker then asked why you submitted another bid, since you recently expressed doubts about similar properties in the same apartment building. This time your bid was not the highest, and the seller decided to accept another bid. You stated that you were surprised that the broker brought up the recent cancellation. However, we believe this is a justified question. As brokers, we are obliged to investigate potential buyers so that we can advise our clients which offer is most suitable to accept.
