Van der Linden is one of the most unprofessional and authoritarian rental agents I have ever rented a property from. They consistently fail to keep appointments, and I mean actually not showing up for (pre)inspections of rental properties, they issue incorrect service cost invoices (for two years in a row I have received hundreds of euros back through the rental committee because Van der Linden's calculations are incorrect), they are extremely unfriendly and incomplete in their communication. They only answer easy questions, never difficult or critical ones. They hide behind ‘the previous owner of the building’ and newly, the cover story ‘the homeowners association handles this’. Calling about a breakdown? That is not possible, you must create a repair request in an app (developed by third parties) where action is usually not taken quickly and adequately. Furthermore, they act particularly haughty towards their tenants. Example: before the inspection at the end of the lease, a ‘threatening email’ is sent threatening to charge €150 if you do not show up for the inspection, which is pushed down your throat without consultation and solely based on Van der Linden's agenda. You have no choice of day or time. If Van der Linden then fails to show up himself, and you demand €150, this ‘appointment’ suddenly doesn’t work both ways. How authoritarian and contemptuous can you be? Force majeure, the traffic was blocked. As an account manager, you should take into account delaying circumstances and anticipate them in good time. That is what one calls a sense of responsibility. But that customer-focused approach is completely missing. Another example: at the end of the lease, they suddenly came up with the requirement that all walls must be painted white, while the walls were not white when the rental started and this provision is not included in the rental agreement. The properties are going on sale and white simply sells better, that will be the reason. And as a tenant, you have to go along with it because otherwise you won’t get your deposit back. They can threaten like the best in Almere! Shortly before the end of the lease, you are squeezed hard to perform unpaid painting work so that Van der Linden can collect extra money. What an organization!

This primarily came across during the viewings, for which Britt arranged the planning and where Agnes was personally present.
