We have had other viewings in the past where we also had to bring our children, and all agents were more than hospitable and understanding of the situation (believe it or not, such a situation is also stressful for a parent!). So what happened next, my husband took the children out of the house and wanted to go back to talk to the agent about what had just happened. But the agent didn’t want to talk to us because he locked himself in the building and no longer opened the door. We witnessed this sad situation because we brought our own realtor to the viewing. If you are considering Avenue ‘t Gooi Makelaars as your selling realtor, I strongly advise you to reconsider. We were seriously planning to make an offer on the house yesterday, but after having such a unpleasant experience, of course we won’t do that now. We had another house to view soon, also offered by Avenue ’t Gooi Makelaars, but we have decided that we don't want to see it, because we don’t want to risk being treated badly again. I understand that it might have been difficult for the agent to deal with the situation, since the children were very busy, but my husband and I tried everything to minimize disruption of the situation. There are many other ways the agent could have handled the situation, but unfortunately he chose to be disrespectful and very mean and make hurtful remarks about and towards our children and towards me and my husband.
